The merging of LS and SS has been on my mind for a few years, but it's not really physically possible without coding help. When I have a spot of time this weekend, I'll write down why. Meanwhile, enjoy:

OK, so...where do we stand? To my knowledge the Red Eagles have NEVER been involved in a CLAN WAR, we've had disagreements and high tensions, but never a clan war...not sure if I like the idea or not. It would seem that it's going to end up as Us, *oL, CW, and S&H vs the 4 SS clans...

We also are going to have to work out new warranting rules and regulations, training on how and when to warrant, and monitor warrants issued. I'm not liking this at all...

Give me some input here, guys. And Dreanger, if you don't have anything intelligent to say on the matter, please say nothing until you actually start playing your Eagle.

You lost me at the damane part though

In the back of my mind I thought this was a april's fools. I had mixed feelings though, not to sure it wouldn't be a bad idea. Given I'm generally the only one on this dang side often It would of been nice to at least see who was on to kill heh.

Such a great idea with so much thought put into it. I'd bet a lot of players would go for it too.

Shame it's another joke. So much promise for the games future/survival and no follow through.

As may have been obvious, the thought of merging SS and LS has been something that's been on my mind for some time. However, the ideas as outlined in April 1st's post are not remotely possible, which is why the whole idea is not feasible in that form.

• Changing all Seanchan character's races manually would just be ugh. We have no way of telling how many Seanchan characters there even are and chances are people would return in a year or 2 and still need to be changed. The command also requires a 104, which severely limits this.
• If all Seanchan would show up as "the severed head of Varcoz the Human slain in Two Rivers", all LS clans' scalp awarding mobol would have to be changed. The potential for abuse would be huge, since you could turn in reset scalps for qps. A check for being wanted only works as long as "Varcoz" would still be online, so that comes with its own huge set of problems.
• All mobs such as kaf and chokevines, but als clanned mobs like Red Eagle mobs and all SS mobs would have to be changed in how they aggro. Their aggro would have to be mobolled instead of being dependent on race, which would add a lot of work for the server.
• We really don't have the imms available to do anything like this.

Basically, this could only work if it was accomplished through coding, so Seanchan would still be "Varcoz the Seanchan slain in", which would fix the aggro and scalp awarding issues. Through that coding change they would get access to LS who, narrates, globals and all restrictions wrt leading and grouping would be removed. There would also have to be a k enemy command for DS.

However, if I could pick any coding change to be done right now, it would be a remort option for LS/SS, since that would be something that would affect many, many more players and provide more players with an incentive to play. So don't hold your breath that this LS/SS merger will happen.

Not as far as I remember. The removal of Seanchan because they were "obviously a failed idea", yes. Not removal of Seandar.

Two others were the re-release of Nassti and imms getting compensated for their work here. There must've been one or two others, but I didn't save all of them.

Why would anybody ever believe this anymore? I mean, it's literally the same joke you've run for years. The first thing I thought on reading it was "Wow, are they just copy/pasting that every year?"

Yeah, Elysia you are terrible for running a joke on April Fool's day, and not even coming up with something more creative... the mud is truly terrible.
