Question to oldbies/imms: Was the game ever supposed to end?

Serious question here. I joined in 2003(?) and have been on and off since. Looking back at struggle with TG-points, various quests and attemps to push the story line forward, was there ever a genuine desire to create some sort of end-game or was it always meant to be about endless accumulation of gear, qps, chars and so on and so forth?

I think "the plan" for the game and how it was run changed several times back then, but has been mostly the same for the past 10 years.

The game has become moribund due to the lack of sufficient new players/features/coders. Although there are some new players, it's mostly the old school guys 'n girls stuck in the past and unable to move on
Me included obviously!
The end game will occur when(and if) Flash tells Vivienne, who will tell us.

That post was all well and nice Lykan and promised us a second turning to the wheel but I think we are permanently stuck in the Zunth turn.
