Lag
Re: Lag
have you tried turning it off and then back on again?
Re: Lag
We've talked about this, however, we're not going to move to a situation where we're doing two reboots a day.
If you would like to take steps to help with the lag then there are ways you can make a difference.
1. Sleep well and wake will be removed.
2. Every item matters so learn to loot well and dispose of objects in the game. If you are an active smobber or player who, every time you kill something, you take everything from its corpse. Those items dropped and scattered around add-up.
a. you can give trash to a mob then kill the mob for the corpse to decay.
b. you can ferry the extra trash to a collection room and leave it there.
c. you can deathtrap or drown with it, to spite the lag.
Incremental adjustments are being made to optimize mobol and other pieces of lag that we can control actively.

Re: Lag
Inconclusive, but I did notice big lag spike when on the syslog it said "zone reset", which gives us lag, and someone linkdead renting the other day, so I'd like to investigate that. And hope the ld rent doesn't coincide with a random zone save or whatever, so that might take a while.
Re: Lag
I get that perhaps people "sleep well and wake"ing with hundreds of items might lag the mud, but is it possible to like raise the rent-allowance per character from 40 to even 50? Atleast when wearing a full set that gives you some leeway to carry some items/potions/lanterns/scalping dagger etc without already overloading you?
Example:
A full set is 17 items (2x ring, 2x neck, 2x wrist, belt, 6 pieces clothing, container, weapon and shield). Add a mending stone (oil/sand), a scalping dagger, a drinking container, and you hit 20 items, with 20 spare to spend on other matters (additional items carried like sheaths, double weapon, throwing weapons, potions, lights, foodstuffs, etc) that make you a viable playing character, without having to resupply every single time you log on on bare basics to be playable.
I am not talking about carrying hundreds of herbs/scalps/potions/storage here, but just being able to rent/log on to play immediatly, without having to stock up each time you log on, or dump excess items each time you rent.
