Feedback re: anti-gate defense mobol.
The anti-gate defense mobol was changed in May, when I found out that Fal Dara had two different messages for gate defenses and the mobol only had one.
How has it been since then? I know there's a delay - that's mobol. Has it been effective for groups, or are people left out if there are too many in the room?
Any feedback?

Only experience I've had was when I was hit by Caemlyn's gate defenses in the Junk Yard... which didn't seem right to me.

Only FD and TV's east gates have the mobol for now. I need to mobol every room individually, so rolling this out over lord knows how many rooms without know it works would be a potentially huge waste of time.

Tried hitting FD Gate with a group to check them out, but was probably earlier before you made the second emote changes. We lost the battle, maybe 5 of us.
It was interesting to see HP's bounce down and back up but very hard to tell what exactly was happening.
Personally I would rather see good information then the HPs jump around, just feels a little bit wonky and perhaps un immersive.
It also doesn't fix what I always considered the most tragic element of the gate defenses which is you get involved in a low battle inside the city and are finished off by the emote damage (I believe it doesn't fix this, no experience with it).

When we hit before you made the second adjustment, we got wasted in Malkier Gate.
Another time it seemed ok.
It is Always hard to Judge, because normally when you hit, theres also opposing forces who also do damage etc.
Perhaps it would be good to just shoo all humans out of FD for 15 minutes when DS has numbers and just do a "clean" test hit on the Malkier gate to really see how things go?

I just tested with a group of 4 and the mobol didn't flunk. In my opinion, even if it passes people if groups of 6 or 7 hit, that's still a considerable amount less damage being dealt (60 hps per gate defense hit per player 'healed' by anti-gate defense mobol). That's nothing to be blase about.
If we could all please stick our heads together for a list of rooms with gate defenses, as that's not something that can be brought to light with a simple imm command, I can start rolling this out globally. We may have to re-evaluate some cities' mob strengths, but first things first!

Possibly silly question here - given coding access, is there a reason not to just nerf the gate defense code rather than deal with finicky mobol everywhere? Overall the downed gate defenses are a really big positive change, so thanks for your work on this Ely.

Itesh doesn't have access to that part of the code. Obviously if/when that happens, we'd rather have a coding change, but there's no telling when we get that access, nor when such a change would be implemented.

Almost a month further and no other gate defense rooms reported. That would suggest people don't think this is a desirable change, despite this being complained about so much. What gives?

Last 3 or 4 times I’ve been arrowed and oiled I went from wound to crit and haven’t been chilled or healed. Probably because I don’t sit in the room with 6 high level mobs breaking over 350 defense. Dislike button.
