Didn't buy it. Was not impressed by the battle system in the demo and the more I read about what they actually did with the story and the multiple parts, etc. the less interested I was. If it's not going to actually be a remake, don't market it that way for half a decade. Shame, sunk a lot of hours in the PS version back in the day.

Looking forward to Trials of Mana though -- that looks like a pretty legit remake.

I'm playing through it now. I'm finding the battles to be less than exciting which stinks because it feels very battle focused. I'm considering just putting it on command mode and playing through to see the story retold. I will say that it has been neat to see some of the older scenes recreated, but that hasn't been enough to bring that desired nostalgic feeling for more than the life of those scenes. I too am finding the game a bit disappointing though I'm trying very hard to like it.

Loving it, but I would love it more if it was not Midgar only.

Few hours in, enjoying it a lot. Sure it'd be better if there was more than just Midgar. More is always better right? But given the level of polish so far, I can see how they'd need a lot of time to get it all done and I'm awfully excited for the rest.

The combat I can get. Some of the tweaks and small changes to story parts, etc., all good. But the actual chortlesnorfling abomination of what they did towards the end of the chapter, like what in the actual dung.
