Brocas returns back to the center of square, hoping to get his message to everyone.

"Folks, a few of you have asked what evidence I have to make such serious claims against Evolet (Aldwyn). Rather than keep the details to myself and the few who have asked, I will publicly lay out my evidence which led me to make this claim against Evolet."

Brocas pulls a slip of paper from his pocket and unfolds it. "The day after my corlm, Gizmo, was killed, Morat'lopar Joolis contacted me, telling me how he could help aid in this investigation and asked if I knew of any others who would be able to help. A few hours later, Evolet contacted me, expressing condolences and explaining she was a Sul'dam and Tita was her damane. I put us all in contact with each other, and then that night Joolis is killed. This raises my suspicion but certainly does not make anyone guilty.

I then publicly asked if the damane who was being handled by the late Sul'dam Firimei to contact me as I wanted to offer assistance. Surprisingly, Tita came forward and said she was being handled by the late Sul'dam. Why would a damane approach me and lie? Especially given the seriously consequences of the lie and the punishment her sul'dam would give her for spreading such lies.

This led me to believe that Evolet is not who she says she is, and should not be trusted and I think responsible for the death of the morat'lopar Joolis."

With that Brocas folds his paper back up and returns it to his coat pocket. His hand is shaky, as he knows he is making a seriously claim, but the evidence fits and has not yet been refuted! As Brocas leaves the square, he looks into the Primrose Pasteries and can't even fathom eating sweets given all of the actions. As he comes across Baldrics Blades, he stops and peers into the display window. He ponders, "Since no one collected on the bounty I placed for information on my Corlm death, perhaps I should use that gold and by myself a good blade." Without much hesitation he enters the shop.

[Aldwyn]

A messenger runs up to Evolet bearing news from the mob. After hearing Brocas' evidence she glowers and turns to Tita. "You did this to yourself, Tita."

She shakes her head and walks Tita out into the square with the a'dam.

"If it's proof you need then here it is." Tita began to scream and move in an effort to avoid the unseen blows she was feeling. As it continued Evolet went on, "I will keep the a'dam on should this lynching be foolish enough to continue then, my misbehaved damane will share the fate. With the a'dam she will feel whatever happens to me tenfold. The choice is yours, though I wish you hadn't acted in such foolishness, Officer Brocas."

Evolet turns her attention back on Tita who's screams get louder, giving one quick statement to the girl to be truthful to make it stop.

[Aldwyn]

Evolet ponders as she publically punishes Tita for lying, calling over a young seanchan messenger. "Go and request the presence of one of the Blood to come deal with this madness, before actions are irreversible. Perhaps there is a Seeker in town who could root out the forces working behind the scenes to create this chaos."

[Chiron]

A second pastry half-eaten hangs in Chiron's hands, mouth working on the other half slowly.

As Tita screamed, Chiron once again gagged on his pastry. Some sputtering and crumb-coughing, and a minute later.

"We can't lynch her! She wear's the a'dam! It'd be treason against the empress' property. Isn't that how the law is written?"

He frights and grabs his hands, eyeing the hurting damane. Fear of what it could do showed across his face.

"Burned corpses, a stiff handler, either they be rogue damane or darkfriends."

"Who brought the claims against her? They may be the darkfriends!"

[Brocas]

Brocas grimaces as he watches Tita tortured.

He ponders "Why did she lie to me?"

"It's obvious that Evolet is Sul'dam as she wears a'dam. It appears my evidence has been shattered and proved false. I don't want the blood of a Sul'dam on my hands. "

Brocas makes his way over to the Alkinar Inn and looks for a place to sit down.

[raek]

Raek walks into the Inn, and sits across from Brocas. "Brocas, what do we make of this?" she states.

"How are we to know that Aldwyn is the actual sul'dam of this damane? Could a powerful darkfriend not put this leash on a damane and torture her with it? So the question remains... Do we trust the word of Tita when she was free of the leash? Or do we trust Aldwyn now while she's torturing Tita with it?"

[Aldwyn]

Evolet glances around at the crowd, satisfied she made her point she heads to the Alkinar Inn and finds a quiet table with just her and Tita.

[Brocas]

Brocas looks up at Raek and says, "I don't know who to trust. My intuition tells me to believe Tita, and that perhaps it is like you suggest, and Evolet has gotten her hands on a stolen a'dam and is not the proper handler, but I have no proof to back this up."

Brocas sits quietly and observes the interactions between Evolet and Tita from across the room, reading body language and trying to understand what is really going on.
