[Brocas]

Brocas blows across the mouthpiece in quick short bursts causing off-pitch notes to ring through the air. Xoco looks unimpressed, and thinks Brocas surely can't play the instrument properly.

Soon after limbering up the keys and warming the ivory pipe of the piccolo, Brocas starts playing some of the most entertaining and magical music anyone has ever heard. Some would say it rivals even the most talented of Gleeman!

Delighted, Xoco dances and claps in rhythm to the songs. This continues long into the night until it becomes too late and they must quiet down to not disturb any of the other patrons in the inn.

Aldwyn moves back to his vigil in the room. Door bolted, lights off as he watches the street below.

The early morning hours are initially met with screams and terror as another corpse is found.

The terror quickly turns to celebration as a quick search of the corpse reveals his true nature.

Arkan the Darkfriend Highest has been found decapitated.

Also posted in the Town Square is a message from the Mayor:

Due to recent events, we are instituting some new changes. No one out past sunset. Everyone is to return to their homes and keep the doors bolted. Guards will be placed throughout the town. This is a time where we need to trust one another and root out the evil from our home! We also advise that if you do go anywhere, do not go alone. Keep others with you at all times as these deeds seem to focus on those that leave themselves alone and vulnerable.

We will also be asking a census to be taken of visitors. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter as we ask that you come forward to tell us your story today in the Town Hall in order to alleviate suspicions. We also ask that any witnesses to these events come forward as well.

The guard being tasked to stand vigil throughout the night is going to prove taxing on their numbers, and so we ask for any friends of the Light that may have skill in hunting darkfriends to come forward and assist in the investigations.

[Joolis]

Joolis wandered into the tavern and plunked down at the nearest table. He coughed weakly, as if recovering from a cold.

"Ale! I need ale!" he called.

"Why did I even choose to come to this blasted town, everybody's getting de-limbed and de-headed. And now I can't even leave!"

He grumbled and began the drowning of sorrows.

[Aira]

Aira made some eggs for breakfast. Just another day in the town, she thought.

Until she went out and heard of the death of Arkan. Her first thought was that she'd been right calling for his lynching, but the second thought... so there were actual darkfriends in town. The eggs seemed to want to fight their way out of her stomach then and there.

[xoco]

Xoco wanders down from upstairs with a radiant face, moving so gracefully that each step seems part of a dance. Never had such feelings of goodwill warmed Xoco's heart. While eating breakfast, however, a small frown comes over Xoco's face, as a man at a nearby table rackes his lungs into the hard wood before him. His appearance is entirely dishevelled, like one used to sleeping outdoors, and he is clearly at risk of coming down with some illness. Xoco finishes eating and moves warily over to his table to make an introduction, perhaps offer help.

'Excuse me, sir, are you alright? You look unwell,' Xoco asks with a worried look.

[Joolis]

Joolis nearly chokes on his ale as an unfamiliar woman dances the sa'sara down the stairs and seems to look his way. He rubs his eyes in disbelief and stares down at his mug. "Must be the ale," he thought to himself. A few minutes later he manages to raise his head and suddenly the woman is standing right in from of him!

'Excuse me, sir, are you alright? You look unwell,' she asks with a worried look.

"I've seen better (cough) days (cough cough). Like three days ago when there weren't so many body parts all over town!"

Joolis proceeds to cough up half a lung into his sleeve.

He frowns and wipes his mouth. "I seem to be running short on coin and all these guards running around make it difficult for a man such as myself to practice his art."

He coughs up the other half of the lung.

"Also," he paused. "I could use a wisdom for this damned cough!"

[xoco]

Xoco frowns and takes a seat across from Joolis, motioning to a serving girl for food to be brought to the table for him.

'Does this town have a Wisdom? Perhaps you should visit her once you are done with your meal? There are all sorts of mysterious herbs and things that Wisdoms have to cure this or that ailment. You look as though you haven't had a bed to sleep on, as well.. I'm feeling quite awfully generous at the moment, so how about I find you a room somewhere? The last thing this town needs with all these murders is people falling ill and having nowhere to go for the night.'

Xoco procures a small bundle of coin from a purse and places it on Joolis' side of the table. The purse clinks heavily as it disappears back into a coat pocket.

'I know a good soul in need when I see one. That should help you through the week. I will go presently and make the rest of the arrangements for you, how does that sound, eh? If you need anything more, don't hestitate to come and find me. I believe I will more often than not be taking a room here..' Xoco trails off with a slight blush and glances across the room as Brocas emerges from the stairs. 'Light shine on you, poor soul,' Xoco murmurs and leaves the table giddily to join Brocas.
