I was in discussion with Borderland clans a while back about a treaty between Seanchan forces and Northern clans.

I would, however, prefer if we make ALL the BL mobs non-aggro to non-warranted Seanchan that we make Seanchan respond to human for DS if at all possible. :P

This. The only way to win is not to play.

This too.

Personally, I still consider the support/legitimacy given to equipment traders who hoard vast amounts of equipment openly to have destroyed the community on LS. Newbies have been shafted by not receiving the occasional good piece of equipment because people want to save it to trade. And the game became much more competitive with master bonuses so that if you are a non-master without a top-end warded weapon and decent equipment, you are probably about a fifth as effective overall as an equipped master.

I'm sure some people enjoy playing a merchant sim with a messed up economy, but not me.

Seanchan are silly. Maybe one day I'll get clanned Torm after waiting for almost 2 years.

People drop entire kit basics plus top tier (non-rare) weapons in TV/Caemy barrels all the time. Yes, there are people that will solo smob for 20 jagged's to trade, but there are still a lot of people smobbing for fun and donating the eq.

I have to agree with Landon: the equipment situation on LS and DS has never been better. I can still remember 2002-2005 when you would go smob for hours and go home with 1-2 pieces of eq of any worth, while now most smobs are overflowing with eq.

This matter in my opinion is the least of problems at this moment on the mud

My personal experience has been that the availability of gear and quality of gear that is just dumped onto the ground for free is at an all time high. Of the gear I've held back and attempted to trade - most of it eventually just finds its way into the barrel too. With the exception of top end stuff, most other items don't really have a market... when I've attempted to trade things I get -zero- responses.

The Imms have also done some very interesting work with trinkets - commonly available items really aren't very far off top end trinkets and are plentiful in availability. As examples I present the current kandori necklace and cuff. The gap between these and the top end trinkets isn't really enough to make a fuss out of. If you are a top end PKer it might matter to you, but for a normal player the distinction is trivial.

One small comment - I think the issue with newbies is that they don't even know what is valuable or useful. They could easily walk past good gear. I mostly transitioned to sending gear I acquired to Tar Valon instead of Caemlyn. While I should probably operate under a "once I drop it I don't care about it anymore" philosophy - it did seem Caemlyn barrel was just being looted by experienced players who wanted to wear nice gear while statting. I totally understand using a higher damage weapon while statting, but what possible purpose does it serve to wear full dodge and trinkets. To each their own, but that doesn't seem necessary to bot on saplings.

Just to clarify SS rents, currently for unclanned there are 2 Falme, 1 Jafar, 1 Tanchico and 1 in the city you capture I've momentarily forgotten the name of when SS have it, for anyone who's been away for a while the 'new' rent Falme is 4s,w,n from gate 'In The Guardhouse', 'chico is the old LS rent Three Plum Court and I can't remember the spams to the rent in the flag capture city.

I don't think equipment trading or hoarding has any effect on the majority of players, with the exception of 'high-end' pkers. Nothing is that hard to get except rares and as mentioned by Paigey they're not all that big a difference. If you think you're getting your ass kicked by a master because he has jcuffs and you have kandoori, think again!*

*Unless you're dodge where you do really need everything perfect and then you'll annoy the hell out of people until you get bashed and die, then you'll annoy the hell out of more people whining about dodge needs to be upped.

There's not enough 'farmers' to really deny other people opportunities to get gear, I tend to solo smob on my stabbers and it's rare I find anyone else at a smob or the smob dead.

The main problem I encounter on SS regarding equipment (not personally, other players) seems to be gold, which is fairly common on DS too. Stabbing smobs and mobs brings in the bacon, but non-stabbers seem to have problems, I've given out money to H/H or get gear out of rent on both sides pretty frequently.

There are some nice smobs around Almoth, but most need at least 3 players (not counting masters) or a stabber. Which is my suggestion really for anyone who has problems getting equipment.

Want easy re-equip? Make a Stabber. Don't like playing stabbers? Don't like stabby pk? Me neither, but I have one on every side because they're just so damn efficient for farming gear and gold.

It also helps numbers. You log on, no pk, no smob groups, what are you going to do alone in most cases? If you have a stabber, you can always alt and stock up a bit of gear for the next time there is pk and you die, so you're ready to jump back in. That keeps you online when you'd otherwise be bored and log, makes it more likely the next guy looking at the who list decides to stay on, maybe start a smob group or some pk.

Rogues - they DO actually have a useful function!

P.S. Also, bring back Seandar. I promise to actually log on and go smobbing with Drol
