Sen. John McCain said that allegations Trump shared highly classified information with top Russian officials are "deeply disturbing."
Sen. Susan Collins who said earlier Tuesday that the Senate Intelligence Committee needs to be briefed on the report. Sen. Ben Sasse told MSNBC that "It's not helpful that this was with the Russians, right? I mean this is just weird."
Senator Bob Corker was even more blunt, saying the White House is "in a downward spiral right now and have got to figure out a way to come to grips with all that's happening.
Height Securities’ Peter Cohn wrote a note to clients on Tuesday that Trump's recent conduct "raises questions for investors about whether senior Republicans will abandon ship."

Re: America....
My statement was not that he transcends lobbyists or corporate interests. And I cannot claim to know enough about business acumen to judge who is a good or bad businessman. My point is simply that with the current state of the democratic party primaries, Trump can be viewed as the closest you can get to a candidate that is divorced from corporate interests (not referring to his actions once he became President).ecthus wrote:I mostly agree with the first part, although the other way of spinning it is that America values the rich few over everyone else. If we actually valued wealth, the country wouldn't be run for the benefit of the few.sauin wrote:The first of america's problems lie in its valuation of the movement of wealth over actual people....Regardless of personal interpretations of what trump may or may not represent, no other candidate can maintain an internal party presence with external lobbyists bartering votes around, without caving to these interests. The argument could be made that it is a condition of advancement in modern american political parties.
Anyway, I think it's entirely optimistic to say that Trump has transcended lobbying and corporate interests. This is no doubt his fantasy of himself, and that can be manipulated, but it's not a fantasy we should believe. You don't transcend private interests and then appoint Rex Tillerson and Betsy DeVos. To me, the idea that he is immune to pressure because of his wealth just lends support to the idea that Trump is a good businessman. He's not.
If you're relying on the republicans to lead the charge against lobbies, then I believe that the evidence stands for itself.

As much as I would love to see the back of his big head and tiny hands.. I fear all those impeachment stories are as fake as Trumps tan.arkaza wrote:"Height Securities Begins Contemplating "Impeachment"

Re: America....
In my opinion he will be ousted this year.
Re: America....
If Comey comes forth with evidence and/or Trump tapes exist and get played to Congress, I do think Trump will get the boot. I wouldn't have said that at any point before today, but mountain of dung is getting to be a bit too high even for the notoriously partisan Republicans. And the sooner the do this, the better their chances at rallying behind Pence and holding off their disaster (America's hope) in 2018.
Re: America....
Many people pointed out how ridiculous this was during the elections, but now that that's been debunked as complete horseshit, what exactly does that say about the Republican primaries? You've completely overlooked the fact that the Republican primaries resulted in a President that is not only vulnerable to corporate interests, but also to foreign adversarial interests in addition to being wholly inept and incompetent for the job itself, does that not say something about the Republican primaries?sauin wrote:My point is simply that with the current state of the democratic party primaries, Trump can be viewed as the closest you can get to a candidate that is divorced from corporate interests (not referring to his actions once he became President).
How is the system that gave us Clinton, Gore, Obama, and, yes, even Hillary Clinton (who you can't call inexperienced or an incompetent statesman at the very worst if you're rooted in any kind of reality) worse than the one that gave us Bush 43, Sarah Palin on a major ticket, and Donald Trump?
Re: America....
Comey's a careful dude and he was known for leaving meticulous paper trails when he was working for the Bush Administration. He's got the memo he wrote right after his meeting with Trump post-Flynn resignation. Could be pretty explosive.Khazar wrote:If Comey comes forth with evidence and/or Trump tapes exist and get played to Congress, I do think Trump will get the boot.
Re: America....
I don't see anything happening to him over the Comey firing or the Russian leak. Not at the moment at least. It won't be until the mid terms when peoples seats are on the line that the GOP may turn on him if it's politically advantageous to do so. Right now the game plan seems to be say as little as possible and hope the electorate forgets and/or are apathetic.
The only people who are actually outraged already dislike Trump.

Re: America....
I just wish the congressmen and women would put as much effort into things that matter right now in the country than they do with blaming Russia without details or evidence. Let's get to work on healthcare and tax reform... holy hell people are losing their minds and it's always easier to blame others than get your hand dirty and get to work.

Trump is far from geniune. The lower masses believe him and his .. Rhetoric. Still in the face of absurdity..They still do.
He opens his mouth to much. Nothing but a vacuous abyss tries to make itself heard.
Anyway I implore you to watch Jim Jefferies ..He has it nailed down. Funny funny man who is Australian, but lives in the U S of A
