America....
Re: America....
What in the hell are they protesting?
Re: America....
The rhetoric that Donald Trump used throughout his campaign which made them feel like they will lose their rights, and if they don't march now, they might not even have the rights to march later.pial wrote:What in the hell are they protesting?

Yea, it's getting pretty silly. Everyone is firetrucking with everyone. Was supposed to go to work! Extra days off! Woot!
Re: America....
They're protesting against hyperbole?

Wish they'd started these protests a month ago.

Yep..It says something doesn't it that there are so many protesters. We didn't see or hear of this with Obama.krul wrote:Wish they'd started these protests a month ago.
Re: America....
Here is what I think...
People are lamenting what just happened in our election. For people to think intellectually, we need to get past our emotions, which takes time to process, not immediate action.
Protesters need to go home, have conversations with their parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters, church family, friends, mentors, etc and talk through what just happened. There may be time for action, but this is not that time.
Donald Trump isn't responsible for hate crimes, the people that perform the hate crimes are responsible. These are typically people under 31 year old, and they need to grieve, process, calm down, then intellectually respond. They need parents at home who are willing to sit them down and calmly talk about what is going on. They could even be activists, in a more positive way, which could actually promote change towards their beliefs, if they take time and think first, not act based on temper and grief.
All hate crimes do is get people arrested and fuel fear by some who live each day scared about tomorrow.
I think President Elect Trump, the one we saw election night and meeting with President Obama Thursday will turn out to be different than campaigning Trump. Lets give it time.

... what do you want said? Conservatives are respectful of the rule of law and others and don't riot like children because they don't get their way?Firimei Lang wrote:Yep..It says something doesn't it that there are so many protesters. "Stronger together." (Hah.)
When Obama was elected, a woman said to John McCain she feared he was an arab. He replied, rebuking the woman that Obama was a decent man whom he just had disagreements with on policies.
Of course, the left is saying nothing about all this going on. Nope.
Of course, most of the rioters (they're violent, they're not protestors) are most likely paid and bused in, likely...

Re: America....
I really don't think anyone has paid people to protest, they protest as Trump will be a disaster for them and their Country..
Why else....I honestly can't see the whole Trump conspiracy thing here, of paying people to protest..
