Giving MCs some love
Re: Giving MCs some love
Well I'm not talking about anyting over-the-top really. I would say the best way to set up a bit of removal would be very light side positive. I do like the idea of getting more MCS into Clans but until they make one with a bit different roleplay then dragonsworn I'm not interested. That's just my personal feelings i have a r5 fc dsworn and i just dont care for the clan anymore.
Re: Giving MCs some love
R5 too easy for taint protection. Make it rank 8 for taint protection. And rank 9 MC, you probably have a shot at remorting into the dragon reborn. Or at least a false dragon. Rank 9 Grants balefire.
Considering rank 9 takes over a decade to complete, let alone as MC, the most difficult class to play without tainting or becoming a df, try it out.

IF that one time wil reduction also removed taint, I believe that would be a good change (people could try out old tainted MC's again at least).

Re: Giving MCs some love
Make a hard quest to reset taint that also gives a perma known channeler tag on the character, clanned or not. So the character won't stay forever broken, but have a strong disadvantage on a very overpowered character (like not being able to use a lot of patrols up north).
Giving taint protection on Dragonsworn is a very bad idea, as that would make mcs dominate pvp up north. Unless you want to restrict them with not being able to learn clanned weaves. (Taim won't teach them anything if they clan Dragonsworn, and he will attack them or something)

So they'd be wilders that are hunted by everybody? Not sure how having clanned weaves would be any more unbalancing than sedai or damane or wisdoms or kin who get clanned weaves.Groderick wrote:Unless you want to restrict them with not being able to learn clanned weaves. It ain't broke, don't fix it.
Re: Giving MCs some love
I am unsure if it is really a problem, but it is one that I can envision being a problem, should you want to, you know, actually do things with a male channeler. The biggest problem for a male channeler on Lightside is the hit points cap. It's almost guaranteed that someone will figure out that you're a male channeler if they see you get bashed and go from healthy to wounded, especially if you're playing dodge. I don't know how well combo helps, but losing those hit points quickly will make people suspect you.
So if you want to play an unknown guy in a clan, it might be difficult. I really think the stat cap should be revisited for male channelers. Let unclanned and clanned male channelers have whatever hit points they roll. Maybe even give them a slight buff to physical stats when rerolling or statting. That way, they can play like old uber statted hunters (just shy of the 17 19 16 that was once so common, with 18 dex) and have 340-350 hit points. This will allow them better martial skills, leaving them less dependent on channeling to make up for the damage. They would have the choice of channeling, in order to unleash greater power, at the great risk and expense of becoming known, declanned, and or hunted by everyone in the world.
Basically, bring back the concept of ABS male channelers. I had one and I played him and had some of the most fun ever on him. I was very sad when I had to change homeland and reroll him to the typical channeler with low hit points.
Obviously, this would be unfair to male Dreadlords. I have no idea if the Staff and Immortals are looking for other ways to make them more powerful. I don't know what the Dreadguard clan even gives them as far as bonus. Better spell practices, a higher stat coat and a higher stat shirt that I know of, but it's definitely not extra hit points. With the ability to freely channel without fear or taint, as well as those previously mentioned bonuses, I think the hit point cap is fine for them. It could even be explained that in transferring themselves over to the Shadow, something in the process sapped some of the strength, leading to the lower hit points.
Just an idea. Not sure if it's really a problem. I have a few male channelers, one I am waiting for rerolls on. I am excited to try and play them, being unknown, maybe doing the darkfriend route...but being limited hit point wise is going to make it very difficult to stay hidden, unless I play VERY carefully as far as getting beaten up by the enemy.
TL;DR let MCs have unrestricted HPs, let them have an easier time getting higher strength and constitution. Bring back abs male channelers!

They have better warrior pracs than AS.Frey wrote:So they'd be wilders that are hunted by everybody? Re: Giving MCs some love
One reason this idea could be explored, simple fact, what if someone doesn't want to play a female character? Perhaps there are some guys on wotmud, that actually want to play... a guy.
We've pointed out repeatedly,
Tower, Wisdom, Kin, and Damane….
That is four options for people wishing to play a channeling female, but other than going to DS, we really don't have a route for a male to play.
I honestly wouldn't have an issue, if the mud timeline finally advanced a bit more, and yes, create the black tower, upon clanning no taint, since it was cleansed, . Model it partially off the White, making it difficult/time consuming to advance, but you wouldn't have to waste your life curtsying, and acting like you're a girl.

Re: Giving MCs some love
Give non-remorted mcs back old hps. They are already heavily handicapped as is!
