Channelers are easily counterable. On my ss I've watched 3 different fcs port themselves in the past month at AD portal stone. (None were stilled fortunately). Also steddings are awesome for ss when fcs are nearby.

So, it's sorta like 1s xroads. And like 1s xroads, when you've got equal numbers otherwise, it works great and you can win if they hit you there. When you don't - well, it works about as well as 1s xroads too. It'd be a little ridiculous to say that because there are a couple very specific spots, channies are easily counterable - rather, that given the right zones, right leaders willing to chase to those zones, and right numbers, they're counterable.

As Naerin alluded to normally channelers kick my ass. If I go stedding they tend not to want to PK because they can't do any damage. More often than not there's more than one person in the fight and the only mob support available in stedding is a cute little kaf patty. LS on the other hand gets a giant smob, dismount rooms, doors with mobs and all sorts of roaming and chasing mobs.
So that's really why stedding doesn't get used a whole lot because you have to run west to find some stronger mob support.

I have compiled a short list of things that counter channelers in the SW off of the top of my head. There are probably more.
1. Raven Statues = No Water weaves
2. Stedding
3. Portal stones
4. Falme Gate = No Water weaves iirc, or is just no chann. One of those.
5. DW have annoying ass horses, speaking from experience.
6. Go berserk.
7. Channies suck.

You fcs above took my post the wrong way. Yes there are "counters" in narrow with a couple kaf. Or yandar, or portal stone. I was more referring to the lack of other things Seanchan has compared to the other races. DS has mobs all across the map, and not only mobs but mobs in doors for easy wins. They also have remorts in fades and they big key an option for channelers remort DL. LS has mobs all across the map tons of places to run. Multiple different bonused clans. Both sides generally always have more people on it. Seanchan side get's little love was the point.
Yes we got elmora and while it's cool. Tell me how often in a year does pk happen there? Maybe less then 50 times total, and that's probably an exaggeration. People chasing to yandar is a rare occurrence as well. People pking almoth is also a rare occurrence now. Falme/thr pk is rare. Yes we got half of chico...tell me how much is that used? The point is we are limited to our little mob support in the south west. And a few plants around the world. We have no big bonused chars like fades/dls/gaidin/wb/channelers etc. We get mounts...which while are useful aren't much. And they get killed soon as you have to dismount them, and they cost us qps per use.
Seanchan is at a disadvantage in most nearly every aspect in comparison. Changes to level it out would be nice. Starting with a way to transport us in decent time (coaching, raken flying whatever) up north. Having a 1 type command for DS to use on both LS/SS would be a good imp. Removing LS mob support agro on SS would be another. Putting some mob support across the map similar to DS's help. Give us something of a powerful char to try and achieve. When I say that I want something within reason. This mud needs less bonus's not more. Which would mean downing current bonus's like below.
The map needs downsized, whole zones probably need removed. The map was built to sustain 100+. We have maybe 30 on at any given day tops. Channelers are also a pathetic representation of the past. There damage needs downed at the very least and probably limited to target there on. Seems like people play there channelers more nowadays. It's probably because it's so incredibly easy to get a kill on this. Bonus's need scaled back to the times. Multibash and zerk attack are stupid and handheld for this playerbase.

2. Hardly ever used in pk because very little chasing.
3. Where? Almoth...Aylia? Pk happens there how much for us?
4. Still weaveable might have a restriction, but again pk happens there how much?
5. How active is that clan again? How many times do they actually use there horses? Insignificant really and works on a chance %.
6. Always a good alternative to anything. But again generally outnumbered and easy death for LS.
7. Yes yes they do, they are ruiners of fun. And while I'm not implying there not unkillable...lord knows I've killed my fair share. There stupid as is and even more so for our race imo.

Those lists are a joke. The answer for killing channelers has always been smashing them with clubs and axes. You can claim I'm being obtuse by trying to reduce it to something so minimal, but every person on darkside who chose to be combo on darkside back in the day knew what they were giving up.

I didnt read most of this. I am going to say one major reason i dont play my seanchan is because it is constantly being rank 0d. It is especially annoying with a mostly absentee immortal staff and viewing the clan and seeing people at their normal rank who havent played in a very long time. I like to pop on every so often. I dont like to be hassled. I am very anti wotmud time sinks anymore. I dont feel like it will be much longer before i have a fat lady post of my own.
