Lots of love for Jon Stewart..it's amazing how many including one of the most intelligent Men in the planet [Prof Steven Hawkwing] are against the Republican candidate.

When the political parties don't show any interest toward the uneducated white middle class to poor population then of course they will feel not heard and become frustrated as well as feel disenfranchised. When someone like Trump comes along and speaks for them in an extremely direct way unlike any other candidate has in recent memory of course that's going to galvanize that base and make them feel like they finally have someone who gives a dung about them, especially when they've been largely ignored in favor of rich whites in their own party, or minorities and rich whites in the other party.Petra wrote:
I find it fascinating how Trump is even a contender in this. I get the whole ant-establishment vibe, and the international mood against globalisation from people who haven't seen the benefits, but Jesus, how the hell do you then get to the conclusion that Trump is the answer to that? The only answer Trump is the answer to, is "who is a giant, self-involved misogynistic numbnuts that's going to destabilise international relations?"
I think it's fairly easy to see why people vote for Trump, even though I just put my ballot in the mail that has Hillary selected as my choice. But I make it a habit to think from different perspectives, I guess I shouldn't expect other people to do that or to be capable of it!
