I never meant to appear disparaging - it was a more mind your a**e line - nothing spoils the day more than having to deal with Officialdom when you are in the wrong!
On the other hand - if the blighters are messing you about and you haven't done anything wrong, it can just be a PITA - like my Ma who recently got a parking ticket knows. She realises she is in the clear as, being a member of the local council she was well aware that the regulation that the newbie "Traffic Warden" or whatever the modern day "Parking Enforcement Officer" is now called, has booked her for infringing does not come into force until April!
