not true terry goodkind writes some realy good one in all honestly i liked his sword of truth series better then the wot series
Personally, I think Goodkind sucks as a writer but we can't always like the same stuff.
I think J.R.R Tolkien towers above all other fantasy writer - even Rowlings. My only complaint about the WoT series is that they're a freakin' long and overly detailed series. Being concise was not one of Jordan's strengths.

I've always been more interested in realistic characters doing things and behaving in ways that are believable with some snazzy dialogue. Sword of Truth and WoT just aren't good at either imo! Sword of Truth characters have the complexity of porn characters!

Sanderson's dope. The Cosmere is dope. Goodkind is not dope.

What creeped me out at Goodkind is his penchant for barnyard animals...
You always knew that if at the start of a book you saw a generic barnyard animal,it would end up abused, mistreated, sodomised of otherwisely mistreated..
And dont get me started on his other fetishes

I love the WoT series and by far it is my favorite, but Sanderson has this way of making a story flow so seamlessly that I find captivating. I just cant put his books down!!! When I had to write a paper for school though I would channel Robert Jordan, my teachers always gave me an A, but I felt that had more to do with them not ready everything I wrote, hehe.

I'm thinking Mely's post was a sarcastic remark referencing the fact that a lot of people think Goodkind stole a bunch of ideas from the WoT series. Hoping, at least

The first couple of books in SoT were good, but they quickly died down. I agree that Sanderson is pretty solid. His Stormlight series and Steelheart were both very good. With that being said, Erickson is the greatest!
