I'd like to see uniques better than their standard equivalent - but very few of them to be as good as a heron (basically only justice, lamans, and arguably ksword and malf)

Agreed however as much as I find myself switching back to combo every time because its so much more survivable than alternatives for me - I think the range of support additional uniques should be aimed at ABS. Although I also feel that the primary stats of these should be in damage and OB, rather than weight. Anything of reasonable weight and ob (I don't know the specific mechanic) should be bashing combo consistently, so tipping the scale further (so dodge is bashed consistently) screws those with what is easily the hardest full setup to acquire.

To a lesser extent I would love to see dodge being bashed less consistently (difficult with so many masters prevalent in pk) and I'd actually like the increase to db for weight to be INCREASED.

Note - every time I take my fc dodge she dies almost immediately, either in one bash, or in melee immediately afterwards - so all my setups where she seems to do well are combo so this will be screwing me for that.

Maybe not even necessarily no rent items (our player base is a bit small I think for these to really be utilised if they don't last over boots, and if they do then they're effectively not no rent in a stable game). What about having them degrade quickly and not be repairable?

I agree with this. It has always seemed to me like combo has they waaay cooler weapon choices are far as rares/uniques go. And for some reason the abs ones don't seem to get played that much. For example, the unique lblade... WHERE is it? I have seen it in play once and then it just disappears to someones rent indefinitely. I also think Malf should be upped... it is basically a bronzer. Sure it does channies dirty but how often do you get to do that? Meanwhile the equivalent COMBO weapon Justice does way more damage. Their damage output needs to be the same. I don't think anyone really cares if Malf blows up channies or not, it just needs to be worth playing the same way Justice is. Besides why would a sword do more damage than the most badass axe in the game?

Another suggestion is to make an abs heron. You can play the 1h longblade heron without a shield, but I think there should be a proper heron representation for us abs long blade users.

Malf is fine. I agree Justice is stupidly overpowered in comparison (changing it to only do extra damage to fades would be a great change). The only change I'd maybe advocate for Malf is making it a flail again with all the same stats it currently has. As it is I'd say Malf is the best ABS weapon in the game.

As for an ABS style heron. Sure the heron has a great RP angle from the books, and an ABS version would be cool. Having said that even just adding some OB to mauls would help out a lot with the huge number of powerful defence rares vs the incredibly limited number of far less powerful ABS rares.

What always confused me was that most combo uniques are based on rares/herons, while ABS uniques are based on base-stock weapons.

If you make uniques based on herons they will always be better then their base weapon (see K-sword, Justice, Laman's) and will be game changers in the right hands.

The other day I had Blight Killer and was quite underwhelmed: it was basically like I was wielding a bronze headed axe without anything much added which I could notice. Actually I was much more impressed by the 88% unique ABS set I was wearing at the same time :P

Perhaps up ABS uniques a bit in damage, weight and or OB. Make them stand out really, just like their combo/dodge counterparts do.

I am also a great fan of non-weapon uniques as well: the unique ABS set is awesome (WTF did it go anyhow??), perhaps some unique rings, bracelets, neckies and abs gear can be added as well. There are huge amounts of background material in the books to base things on.

This might be getting a little of topic but I think abs just needs some beefing up or something. With all the high damage weapons and the master damage bonus, sometimes feels like I'm wearing paper. Maybe combo weapons need some damage reduction since you get the added benefit of defense with those weapons?

I dunno, just wanted to share my thoughts.

Yea, me and 2 rogues were just melting Brocas the other day. Up ABS to 89! #MAKEDODGEGREATAGAIN

I hate abs. Worst set up ever. Dodge ftw.

Also, mauls are the bomb. Make mauls load on a smob! Need more abs rares!

Remove postures. Bring back old master weapons.

Not that silly non-warded (h/h) abomination they tried for r8 weapons.

People would have to choose between damage, ob, weight or parry. Postures gives you damage all the time and great Ob or great Def. It's made being a non-master much harder
