Re: Announcement from Harriet
My biggest worry about a TV series would be keeping viewership up for the 7+ seasons minimum it would take to tell the whole story. It would really suck to get two seasons and then have the thing get cancelled.
Re: Announcement from Harriet
If you cut the unnecessary BS from the story, it's probably less actual content than A Song of Ice and Fire has been.
The mistake there was adapting that crapfest in the first place.melyssan wrote:my biggest fear is that they will ruin it like they did when they made the sword of truth series into a tv series

This. First couple books were good, then it went so crap. They really didn't have anything to ruinreil wrote:If you cut the unnecessary BS from the story, it's probably less actual content than A Song of Ice and Fire has been.

Oh I cleared cookies I guess, the above was me!

I think this will all come down to which "Major" studio gets this.
I would trust a few to try and do it right and commit to it but most I would not. My fingers crossed for the perfect fit.

Let's get some sort of contribution onto that production so we get the Mud on the credits!
This happened with some other movie. Lord of the Rings!

I legit can't wait for the Cosmere books to get adapted about 50 years from now. Mistborn and Stormlight would be amazing, but also probably expensive as hell. Hopefully Patrick Rothfuss finishes a draft of the third KingKiller book by around that time.
Re: Announcement from Harriet
Seriously, what is Rothfuss even up to?
