Blademasters should be an official clan, with issueable herons as a qp sink. Maybe even a fade-esque resource management system. Maybe some drawbacks. Cannot group or whatever. Make it the LS remort.
Please no more obstacles to grouping for LS. It's bad enough as it is with enemy LS clans having mystical beliefs about the group flag in LS/DS PK.
More thoughts later since my inlaws are at the door!

What would happen to all us Blademasters that have had the flag for the last decade?

It seems like R8 bonuses are kind of a patchwork towards a LS remort, which I think is good for keeping people in their clans. My ideal for remorts on LS is the same as remorts on DS--bonuses should be geared towards leading, reflecting their importance to their clan and the fact that if they're remorting they're probably already a good enough player. Minimal additions to the character, but better for the whole group (like compel is helpful for fades, but more helpful for their trolloc groups.)
Whether the bonuses are designed to help the character or the group, there is always the same problem. Good bonuses also have some counterplay, rather than just being pure addition to an already powerful character or player. I've often heard Blademasters pitched as a LS remort, but I have yet to see any good ideas for skills or bonuses that would come with it, even if coding was open.
It was probably a bad idea to implement Blademasters as an (almost) entirely cosmetic flag, but cat is out of the bag.

Not like new coded bonuses are likely to happen anyway.

There are multiple imms now with limited (and slowly expanding) code access.

Blademasters should be able to lead up to 14 PC's!

The current Blademaster tag is fine. Have it so that the [Blademaster] clan is a elite group of Blademasters, and that as a pre-requisite you have to actually BE a blademaster.
Remember, our world is a mirror. Maybe in our world, the "accepted by 5 blademasters" thing is not to become one, but rather to become one of their elite group within those called the Blademasters.
