stretches towards the north.

Hundreds of golden leaf-shaped lamps are suspended from a domed ceiling at
least twenty feet high. This circular room his held up with thick
marble pillars, with panels and banners placed between every second pillar.
An intricately crafted marble dais lies in the center of this room. There
are three exits to his huge room. A wide passageway lies to either the
south, north or west.

Living Quarters
This stark, windowless room resembles a small square painted white. There
are pegs attached to one of the walls for the occupant to hang her clothes.
The floorboards are almost completely white with scrub marks visible in
patches. The bed is built against one wall while a tiny shelf is built on
another. The furnishings are completed by a small washstand and a three
legged stool.

This is a compact, dark-paneled room full of plain sturdy furnishings that
have been used by generations of women who have held this office. The
desk near the center of the room is plainly made and heavily worn through
years of use. A long, slender willow switch with a carved teardrop on
one end lies on the desk, and a large mirror with flaking gilt hangs from
one of the walls.

Sunburst Courtyard
A fountain carefully crafted of marble and gold, sits at the centre of this
courtyard, offering water for all. Slate slabs and granite pieces form a
intricate pattern on the ground around the fountain. There are seating on the
southern end of this room, made from a dark-wood of some sort. Twin pillars
supporting a curved-top doorway mark the exit to this courtyard to the north.

A peal of thunder broke over head. Beautiful silvery-blue forks of lightning danced across the skies accompanied with a deluge of rain. Slick on the great sculpted walls of the White Tower.
Alone a young woman stood in one of the many courtyards. Soaked through, plain white woolen dress clinging to her, though she failed to notice. Long dark hair hanging limply at her back, sharp strangely colored eyes focused solely on an aged ivory parchment.
It had seen it’s years and she had taken little care of it before discovering the weave for ‘keeping’. But she had it still and that was what mattered. Tracing her fingers over the old, roughly written note. The words slightly faded and hard to read but she knew the message off by heart. It had helped her when she had wanted to give up the tower and return to his side. Reminded her why she was here to begin with.
Shaking off the feeling before it could settle around her again, she gazed at the paper one last time before crumpling it into a ball. That was for the old her, from the person she had loved. She had realized some time ago this would happen. That their decisions were leading them down separate paths. That her’s was destined to be with the tower and his elsewhere far from her.
Embracing Saidar was to her like stepping from a room of fog into direct sunlight. Heightening all senses and enveloping her in the joys of life, yet it was unable to remove the sadness which had settled over her unwillingly. Abruptly bringing her back to the present and the rain which had thoroughly drenched her. A shiver ran through her which had nothing to do with her being wet.
Seeking refuge under a large column supported beam she delicately removed the paper’s weave. Deftly weaving flows of fire before her and held the letter to the flame. Pulling away almost immediately she allowed the weave to dissipate and glanced down at the unruined paper in disgust.
Saidar pulsed silently through her. Even now she was not totally able to let go. Too weak. She laughed bitterly holding back the tears she knew would come.
Turning away, towards that stairs into the tower she dropped the letter. If she could not finish it, the weather would do it for her. Head held high, features smoothed to what she thought would pass for insouciance, she continued to her destination. The rain louder than ever and the sound of her own foot steps ringing loud in her ears. The slosh of water as she tread puddles.
No matter what. There was no going back now. Still, she slid her slender hand to her belt. Running her fingers along the engraved hilt of her blade. Allowing herself a tiny smile, she released Saidar and continued her climb. Ready for the arches that awaited her.
