Feedback: 2h abs/bash weapons
Re: Feedback: 2h abs/bash weapons
I find it funny that berserk attack is called high risk high reward when you can literally use it as only high reward pretty much if you want to...
Already won the fight and they are running? High reward.
Fighting a solo trolloc S of TV? High reward.
Fighting a solo human n of blight? High reward.
Berserk attack is literally just a mechanism to persuade people to not raid/pk solo.
Add to that the fact that abs are cheap and dodge is expensive, I'd expect balance to be somewhere around where it is for a LS dismounted perfect dodger vs a trolloc non-master. IE - maybe 1 in 20 bashes might land non-berserk and goes up to around 1 in 10 berserk.
This needs to be the case for a dismounted trollocs vs a mounted non-master - at 145 dodge I should be surprised if a non-master can bash me at all - and if he can he should be berserk.
With that said - all 2h abs/bash weapons are way over the top and could be seriously downed.

Re: Feedback: 2h abs/bash weapons
I'd have to echo the sentiments on berserk attack and non dagger users. They generally only use it in a win situation. IE. All of DS is usually zerk when outnumbering. Likewise for LS etc. As someone who has a master warrior, and enjoys the fun you can have. I'm not sure that attack is needed. I think the problem is more so with the damage output capability. Then the weapons and it's bashing capability. But I've never liked attack for anyone not piercing really.
Re: Feedback: 2h abs/bash weapons
So no attack for warrior would mean no reason to play wouldnt it?
Re: Feedback: 2h abs/bash weapons
I'm already derailing this a bit. But I've never understood why bonuses have to be combat/damage related. Hunter is a fine example. There's plenty of things a warrior can get as a bonus instead. Aka higher Strength or something, not so harsh. As for fades I could care less if they don't get anything if it were to be removed. They are fine.
Re: Feedback: 2h abs/bash weapons
Bonded Warder attack is the balance to fade attack.
Re: Feedback: 2h abs/bash weapons
I think you know my response here, but remove it tooooo lol. Of course I don't like masters either much. But we're opening to many cans of worms. The point I'm making is zerk attack seems more of an issue. To me personally then being bashed by a big weapon. I've never been much a fan of having a huge edge over someone. It's not as full filling as being normal grounds. Granted some edges are earned. But there's other things than making damage related.
So yeah my point though was... I don't mind being bashed. No one should be unbashable. You should always have a glimmer of hope. Even if your that new noob. Rocking his fresh new abs kit. Maybe you smobbed for that fancy csword. Along rolls nexen in his full spiffy kit. A master badass duder. The poor slub should have a shot. Granted I'm not saying he should be able to sit alone and wreck. You play your situation as needed. Aka mobs to split, do damage for him. But ya. Some people seem to think you shouldn't be able to die in such situations etc.

Are people really trying to say that abs warriors are OP in this game? I find that pretty amusing.

Re: Feedback: 2h abs/bash weapons
20+ years of this game has taught me that if you do anything at all to any abs weapon (even if it's just downing or upping it's damage by 1 point) and post you changed said weapon, every dodger in the game will post 20 anecdotes that their perfectly kitted 155 db dodger now gets sat 20/20 times by it. That's about as close as you're going to get for "genunine feedback," Gira.Joolis wrote:Are people really trying to say that abs warriors are OP in this game? I find that pretty amusing.
And by God, people aren't sitting 1w Caemlyn and GK and berserking against 10 of the enemy mindlessly?! OVERPOWERED!

Yes Zeeb, no one fighting you south of TV has ever been baited or doored by many. Neverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr ever ever.Zeeb wrote: Fighting a solo trolloc S of TV? High reward.
I'll agree with that when the Cairheinin Rising Sun, Red Eagles or <insert clan here> who's done just as much, if not more than a fade can become a "bonded warder." Until then, false dichotomy. Most of the oldbies who have left this game have done so simply because what they wanted to play and put 15 years into is still losing out to a character who was statted a year ago and spam-scalped their way to bonuses they can't compete with.Nexen wrote:Bonded Warder attack is the balance to fade attack.
Never change WoTMUD, never change...
