How does that work for that couple in American where the Father (was a trans-gender Woman who has some reassignment work done) got pregnant and had a child with their Wife/Husband who was a Man. Who gets the flowers/chocolates for whom?

The nurses at the asylum get it. Patients don't get flowers and chocolate.

The woman who is transgender is the mother I presume. If her partner is also a woman then both would be mothers (as is the case with any female same-sex couple).

The confusion is more likely if say the father does the caregiving that mothers were traditionally expected to do - stay at home and so on. If both parents share the parenting equally then it should be a day for both!

As I understood it they
both swapped - but (s)he had not yet got to the stage of having the plumbing ripped out and rebuilt. As for the asylum talk - I suspect that is just from someone who doesn't fully grasp the assessments and what-have-you before anyone contemplating gender re-assignment actually gets to the stage of going through such things - or the mental health damage that gender dysphoria can cause if not addressed.
