Turn Points
Turn Points
Turn points degrade over time? I've never heard of this before and I've played this game for almost two decades (still a noob after all these years). When I took my most recent break from the game, I had almost 2k turn points. I log back on 13 months or so later and I have 300... That made for some great lolz. Guess I'll rent for another 13 months now.
Re: Turn Points
Yes, they degrade and it's not a new feature. Sorry you discovered this the hard way. Please don't let it stop you from playing. They are kinda worthless and not worth getting upset over, imo.
Re: Turn Points
TPs degrading has been a thing since before 2004, I think. I started this char in 2004 and the char I had made in 2002 is still around. That character dropped from 450 to 150 tps, but never any lower than that. So yes, it's been around for some time.
Re: Turn Points
Out of curiosity, what is the degrade rate? I die enough that I don't think I've ever kept tps on a character for long enough to really notice.
Re: Turn Points
It takes a while to kick in, then it drops surprisingly quickly. Prolly should've been made to start based on time between pc kills, not logins. Lots of should'ves though, when discussing wotmud coding.
I think Dagre kept Reav 1 for like 3 years after quitting because he'd log in every month or so to stop decay. Skittles did the same for a few years and Ryalth's been doing it forever.

Re: Turn Points
Definitely agree with this, and/or I'd love a list that tracks the top killers over a shorter period of time (mud month or something.) That way it's a little more dynamic, and reflective of recent activity.Lykan wrote:Prolly should've been made to start based on time between pc kills, not logins.
I think decay starts kicking in after a week, eight days or so?
Not to kick someone when they're down, but I'm flabbergasted that someone who could accumulate 2k turn points didn't know about decay

Re: Turn Points
As stated above though turn points are absolutely worthless. But if you have them and take a break, or whatever.. I'm sure it would be annoying to come back and there gone. Hence why some people log in to keep them. And to that point really. If they can't surpass you when your not even playing anymore. Do they really deserve it?
