A Morat'raken's task to Map for the Hailene

The morat'raken scout climbed down off the back of his leathery bird and gave her head a gentle pat. They'd ranged far this day, and she would be tired, but his work was not yet done. Passing her reins to one of the younger handlers, he strode out into the street, his gait smooth and quick.

Entering the Headquarters, the scout made his salutes and murmured long life for the Empress, then entered the map room to wait.

Finally, the General entered and growled, "Report."

Snapping to attention, the scout spoke quickly.

"We've mapped the ways, sir. There are half a dozen different exits throughout the world. We can be anywhere in a matter of a few days, rather than months. This will greatly increase our mobility and ensure the success of Corenne, sir."

The General stroked his chin thoughtfully for a moment, then said. 'Good work. Remain here for now and make sure that anyone who asks has a copy of the map.'

The scout groaned inwardly, but his displeasure never reached his face.

'Yes sir, as you command.'

You can now give the talented morat'raken scout the way spams and he will show them to anyone who asks.
