Tanchico falls.

Post by Voices of the Wheel » Sat Aug 15, 2015 8:59 pm

One night, fog came rolling in and as dawn broke, the receding fog and growing light revealed the nightmares. Figures with strange insectoid heads riding monsters. Aes Sedai on leashes tearing up the ground. There was nowhere to run for the citizens of Tanchico and they had no choice except to huddle together and ride out the proverbial storm.

Fortunately for most, the invaders were not interested in the common folk, unless they got in the way. As the fighting subsided, people left their homes and began scurrying about for food and water. Despite being whispered, rumors spread as quickly as if they had been shouted by the town crier: King Andric was dead or captured. The Calpene and Maseta peninsula's were under Seanchan control and the King's Palace had been captured. The Children of the Light had been defeated. The Panarch's Civil Watch were still defending their positions on the Verana peninsula, but the fate of the people there was unknown.

The aftermath left the western half of the city largely unscathed. The cobblestones were gone from the streets in places where the channelers had tore up the ground, but most areas were still intact. The Seanchan had ousted the people staying at the Three Plum Court and relocated them and their belongings to a less classy establishment north of the King's Palace.

For now, the fate of Tarabon as an independent country hung in the balance. What the future would bring, no one knew.
