Thuggery and Thievery in Tanchico

"I heard they found something in that abandoned house. Eric sent a guy up north to track down the key for the vault."

The boy glanced around nervously before slipping an apple from the cart into his pocket. The other boy snatched a loaf of bread and turned to go.

"Hey now, you scoundrels! GET BACK HERE!" The merchant waved his fist as the boys took off running. Laughing and wheezing, they turned the corner into an alley and slumped against the wall, struggling to catch their breath.

After a minute, they settled down to eat their meager lunch.

"Oh hey, Diva gave me something yesterday. We're supposed to take the stuff to the warehouse when we get it, but I guess they're being more cautious now that Eric's found the vault. Gotta show 'em the note to get in." The boy pulled a crumpled piece of paper out of his purse and showed it to his friend.

"Geez, must be somethin' good in there eh?' his buddy replied. "What a time to be a thief in Tanchico!"

Both boys doubled over, their laughter carrying up the alleyway and out into the street.
