The Kandori Merchant’s Guildhall was a marvelous place that stood as a testament to both the storied history of that group and the wealth they possessed. Wealth that it often showed at the forefront to inspire or awe prospective investors or to cow a would-be rival. It featured quite a few carvings of wood and stone, paintings of wondrous scenes or important people, and quite possibly one of the finest cushioned benches known to Kandor. A bench that currently upheld a promising Master Merchant who watched her colleagues with sharp, hooded eyes.

The Guildhall, normally busy with trade negotiations or merchants resting after returning from their trade routes, was unusually grim lately.

“As it should be”, she thought. The negotiations with Lord Doc went as well as trying to give a cat a bath. The foppish bastard in yellow made demands that she found insulting, but Master Fyodorovni will have to tackle that on his own. She didn't envy him, but that's the price of his position within the Guild. At least the caravans were moving and coin wasn't being bled by stagnation. But now there were darkfriends involved.

Bloody dark friends!

She pondered on that for a moment. The coin that Illianer lost due to the thievery within his caravans she found amusing. She had always taken the time to get her personnel for her supply chains - any merchant that didn't wasn't worth a damn. But a darkfriend infestation being involved wasn't something she would wish on her most hated competitors.

Master Fyodorovni had delivered a request for mercenaries earlier, but had failed to truly go into the finer details. Catching his mistakes and fixing them before they cut into their bottom line was one of the tasks she often found herself doing. Truthfully, she had debated about what to do but the trade routes through the Great Forest were some of her most lucrative.

She rose from the bench, the hard jingle of coin following her on her way over to the guild's receptionist. “Excuse me, I’d like to make an addendum to Master Fyodorovni’s request from earlier.”

The receptionist looked her over for a moment, recognition sparking behind tired eyes. “Yes, Miss Tojinski. What would you like to add?”

“Payment for services rendered, from my own coinpurse.”
