Shienaran Lancer Event (November 9th)

As darkness creeps in from the north, we have always stood as a bastion, protecting the south. And while, at times, some darkness has seeped through, we follow. But we cannot do this alone. Our allies throughout the world have always stepped in to close the breach. To help hold the line.
With that in mind Lancer Bernheim and I, while pondering Lord Weir's current rat kill count, decided we wanted to hold an event to celebrate those of our community. With the blessings of the nobles of Fal Dara, we will now do so in the form of an event with games for all who attend. There will be prizes for everyone (nearly) who attends. We want to thank every one of you, for always helping us and fighting against the darkness.
The games will be as follows:
The Great Race - It is as simple as the name implies. A race. Obviously to keep it fair, you will not learn more information until the day of the event.
The Grand Melee - Once again, the title says it all. There will be a grand melee, and all are welcome to attend and join. The rules will be stated the day of, but I will say, it will be random, to a degree. And there will be team battles.
The Rat Catcher - As is our custom, all vermin are to be immediately killed in and around Fal Dara. We are unabashedly using you all to do a great sweep, while also having a fun activity. You will likely see more rats and of more variants than ever before during this event. I will warn you. Some are quite dangerous. This is a solo game, but we will all participate and it should be great fun. As before, the rules will be explained the day of the event.
Unfortunately, due to the nature of the The Grand Melee, those who channel will not be able to participate. While you can participate in the Great Race, you will be prohibited from channeling. For obvious reasons. But also, for roleplay. We will also not be allowing rogues to participate in the melee. We have determined that stab is not much fun or fair in something like this. So please keep this in mind when attending.
That being said, we do not want to exclude our allies of the White Tower. I will be approaching you within the next few days and asking for your assistance with other matters. Such as healing. Emotional support. And a few other things that we will discuss then.
We would very much like if everyone who attends could (to the best of their abilities) remain in character, as much as possible. This will be a great opportunity for quest points and new roleplay logs. So do your best, if you can.
The date of the event will be November 9th, which is a Sunday. We will hold it at 7pm eastern US time.
Bernheim and I have personally been collecting loot and rare items to fund this. We have also had several benefactors that have been generous with their own rents. I'd like to shout out Lord Maximus and Lord Artorias and Lord Pandimonium. Who have all donated to this event. We are very grateful for the support. I wanted to mention this because I want whoever attends to come with a good attitude. This has been in the works for around a month. And we are simply doing it to give back to the community. It is player run and player funded. Imms have graciously decided to help with certain aspects. Feneon has been a blessing with ideas and for offering up his time. Vampa has submitted a grand prize and been kind enough to want to attend as well. So if you come, please be kind, be patient, and most importantly, have fun.

While we will not yet tell you what prizes are attached to what. All of that has been decided. If you have any questions you may speak to me in game or through mail, and I will answer tham if I am able to.
We are very excited to hold this event. And we have (hopefully) chosen a time that everyone can attend. You have a month in advance to shift your schedules and we hope you will all attend.
If there are any who wish to volunteer to assist with the refereeing or working protection detail. Please reach out to me or Bernheim and we will figure that out as well. Those who assist with these things will not be able to participate in the games however. We really only need it for the melee.
And finally, Gleeman Kibera will be handling the commentary for all events. As well as helping with various other tasks. I want to extend a thank you to him for volunteering for this work.
