Warning to all Innocents

Post by magus » Mon Feb 07, 2022 4:35 am

A tall, olive skinned man with slicked back black hair, a sharp silk lined coat, and a sense of inherent authority approaches you and your companions.

"A warning, good people, that you may still be alive for the Last Battle as it is quickly approaching. I urge you that if you that if someone tries to murder you in the streets, do NOT attempt to flee to the swordbrothers in Bandar Eban. Not only will they watch passively as you slaughtered in front of them, but if you manage to survive then you will be subject to the same penalties as the ones trying to murder you. "Intentionally bringing conflict to the throne room while fleeing pursuit" is an equal crime to someone using the One Power to strike down a man who has done no wrong and is sworn to fight the shadow, as evidenced by by their official position."

The man than pulls out a missive signed by the Swordbrothers from Bandar Eban, and shows you its contents. It reads:

Magus,

You intentionally brought conflict world to our throne room while fleeing pursuit, and you thereby endangered the life of our King. Because you did not cause the actual violence in the Throne Room, you are only banished. You are banished for two weeks.

Concerning the Aes Sedai Iria's claims, we are taking them under advisement but will conduct our own, independent investigation. Should we find direct evidence of your ability to channel, you will be warranted. Until such evidence is found by the Sword and Hand, or until we have other reason to warrant, you are considered innocent.

Signed,
Tandie, Sword and Hand Council
Lord Bart, Sword and Hand Council.

Esteemed Iria Sedai,

You hunted the man Magus into our Throne Room without consulting us and without our authorization. This is a direct violation of our laws. The use of magics that we do not understand unnerved our guards and threatened the safety of our King.

We understand your concerns about the man but have not witnessed this for ourselves. We therefore cannot grant you authorization to hunt him in our city. Outside of our city, you are welcome to conduct your affairs at your discretion. Should you find that someone questionable is constantly seeking refuge inside our city, send us a letter and we will decide what to do about it.

For now, please give our guard's nerves time to settle and remain away from the city for the next two weeks. We would appreciate your cooperation.

Signed,
Tandie, Sword and Hand Council
Lord Bart, Sword and Hand Council

"Please, be aware that if you are wrongfully attacked that Bandar Eban holds no justice or peace. If one life can be saved by knowing this beforehand, then my time showing you this has been worth it."

And with that the man turns bows and turns away.
