The blademaster rode in through the Dawn Gate as the sun set over the Eririn River and continued directly north towards the Sun Palace. Halfway up the southern ramp his horse balked and sidestepped; the Blademaster unfolded the fan. The squeak and subsequent splat of the rat was drowned out by the clop of hooves as he urged the horse further up the ramp. The glint of the heron mark disappearing as soon as it was revealed. He hopped off his horse at the Southern Gate and a young girl ran out and gathered the reigns, he walked in past the guards without a word or challenge, they had been told to expect him.
