Entering the Dancing Badger, Kenzie scanned the room, her eyes darting between chattering patrons and couples tucked into dimly lit corners. Spotting a quiet table at the back of the room she headed towards it.
Gracefully weaving through the crowd, she exchanged waves and warm smiles with friends. Those within reach received a gentle pat or quick hug, their laughter mingling with hers as she brushed away overly familiar hands with a friendly slap.
Settling at the table, she motioned for the serving girl to bring her an ale as she set her bag down with a satisfying thunk. With a quick swipe of her sleeve, she wiped the damp surface of the table clean then pulled a pen and paper from her bag.
Arranging the materials on the wobbly table, her brows furrowed in concentration. She tapped the pen impatiently, her eyes distant, chasing a thought just out of reach. Tilting her head slightly, a grin spread across her face as the message took shape. With a decisive motion she set pen to paper.

Dated this 28th day of the month of Aine, year 1609.
Slamming her mug on the table after draining it in one gulp, Kenzie burped distractedly as she gave her message a double check.’Yes’, she thought,’It’s ready to go.’
Rising to her feet she tucked the folded parchment into her bag. A satisfied smile lingered as she made her way to the door.
