Preview: taint changes

Hi all,

I'm going to preview an upcoming change to the taint on Saidin, due to how this impacts existing (and future) male channelers. This change is still a ways out, so you'll have some time to digest and give it a think.

At a high level, we're going to:
  • Raise the cap on taint roughly 200-fold, which will allow us to let it ramp up much more gradually
  • Make it impossible to avoid or remove taint, unless you are a Known Darkfriend or Dreadlord, such that male channelers will eventually go mad
  • Implement a new system for the effects of the taint, that shifts it from random command swapping to a system that better reflects the books, where male channelers are dangerous to themselves and others around them as they become progressively more insane. These characters will be playable at high taint levels due to the shift away random commands (though that gameplay may be very different to a normal character), but very dangerous to be around
Since this will be a big change for male channelers and they will all eventually go dangerously insane, we're going to offer some options to existing clanned, known male channelers so they have a viable path to keep the character and the progression. More specific details on that to come soon for the clans affected.
