"Your Highness, The Jester has fled Cairhien." Lord Barthanes Damodred knew if his own men had been sent there is no way the fool would have gotten away, especially after the number of guards he had killed.
King Galldrian was visibly angered by the news. With his fists clenched at his side and his temples bulging, it was clear to Barthanes that the king was attempting to keep his temper in check. Such a slip in composure would surely be useful. Perhaps a new tactic was needed.
" The guards have mentioned he was using the One Power. Strange how a man in your personal employ for so long could deceive you. " His words were working. Those gathered were powerful members of most of the houses of Cairhien and based on their hushed whispers, they were concerned.
A High Lady of a minor house whose name Barthanes cared not to remember spoke, "But Lord Damodred, Where has he gone? We all have holdings in the countryside."
Barthanes sighed, "Our best trackers followed them as far as the Aiel Waste. Upon last report he was seen burning Aiel savages alive and heading farther east."
Galldrian's face grew calm and the vein throbbing in his temple relaxed. "Lord Damodred. Send out the call to our allies. Call in the Tower, Anyone who can take this man down. "
"Yes, your Highness, It will be done."
