A general reminder

Post by Voices of the Wheel » Fri Oct 28, 2016 10:39 am

Staff has received a growing amount of complaints about harassment, abuse of power, and general drama lately. As such, we would like to extend a general reminder to everyone to please abide by the rules and to attempt to play nicely. Please remember that at the end of the day, this is a game where we all come to relax and enjoy ourselves - if you find the environment too stressful, please take a break and calm down rather than taking it out on your fellow players.

Some specific points:
  • Do not resort to real life insults or threats.
  • In-game conflict is perfectly acceptable, just remember to keep it in-game and in character. When you switch to ooc conflict is when issues arise.
  • Do not abuse your power or place within a clan to persecute another player because you don't like his/her alts or attitude or sister or haircut or anything else; these judgements should be made solely on in-character decisions.
  • Treat each other with respect. This should go without saying, but please speak to and treat others as you would in real life and as you would wish to be treated by others. The internet tends to make it easier for people to treat others harshly, lets try and avoid that.
  • The "ignore" command exists for a reason. If you find that you and another player simply cannot get along, please just avoid them to the extent that is reasonable. If they continue to harass you, ignore them. If they will not stop despite your best efforts and it is negatively impacting your game experience, then contact Staff with a full report of the situation. Please note that editing or omitting details will lose you credibility.
  • Please do not report every minor infraction to Staff. Similar to above, if you contact us once a week to say that Bobby was mean to you because he stole your horse, we are less likely to take you seriously if a legitimate infraction occurs. Use your judgement please and remember that we are not here to make everyone be friends but should be a last resort for harassment and other such issues.
