In the Lofty Passage
Carved through the rock of the island of Tar Valon is as wide as any in the
Tower. The main passage is lit by lamps in iron brackets high on the pale
walls, but many crossing corridors lay shrouded in darkness, or with only
widely spaced lamps making small lonely pools of light. The smooth stone
floor if free of any speck of dust and the air is cool and dry.

Corridor Outside the Open Cells
Cut from the rock that forms the very foundation of the island of Tar
Valon, the cells' walls and floor consist of roughly chiselled stone. Bars
embedded into the floor and ceiling form a number of cells, each equipped
with a small cot, a chair, wash basin and a chamber pot. A small bench sits
against the wall in the corridor, a place for any Aes Sedai holding weaves
on the prisoner to sit while they are on guard duty. Plain oil lamps hung
from hooks to illuminate the area when it is in use.

You are standing on the main street of Maradon, which runs through the
entire city. Here the road is bordered by warehouses on the eastern side
and city walls in the west. The nearest warehouse in the east has had it
doors boarded short, marking it no longer in use.

Ledge Over a Break
This ledge over looks the break just to the north. The edge of the cliff is
very loose pebbles and a few large rocks. The drop into the bread looks to
be at least ten paces. The cave ends to the west, but stretches on for a
while to the east and south. The ceiling is very short here, and several
stalagtites can be seen hanging from the ceiling.

Citadel of Statues
The room opens up into a large chamber, one possibly used for receiving
an audience. Nooks with pedestals line the walls of this circular room.
Atop each pedestal stands a statue or carving. An ancient throne sits uopn
a tiered platform, cushions still in tact.
