You get a long, enveloping cloak of midnight black from a soft leather pouch.

You get a coiled garotte from a soft leather pouch.

Gave 75 crowns first. Got this result for both items.

* HP:Healthy SP:Bursting MV:Full >

A slobbering trolloc examines an item closely.
A slobbering trolloc says 'I'm processing your request, Horror.'

* HP:Healthy SP:Bursting MV:Full >

A slobbering trolloc frowns.
A slobbering trolloc says 'No, I won't trade for that today.'
A slobbering trolloc gives you a coiled garotte.

Tried another item, and it worked. whats going on? :)

You give a weathered, storm-gray gorget to a slobbering trolloc.

* HP:Healthy SP:Bursting MV:Tiring >

A slobbering trolloc examines an item closely.
A slobbering trolloc says 'I'm processing your request, Horror.'

* HP:Healthy SP:Bursting MV:Tiring >

You gain one quest point.
