But I don't know that the explanation is correct. Saw it happen today, and figured I would post
Guard Tower above the City Wall
This stone chamber provides a strong point to house the great winches and
chains which operate the gates that seal the city in times of war. Catwalks
extend to the north and south providing archers a field of fire below while
this chamber is riddled with murder-holes to allow the gatekeep to judge when
the gates must be opened or closed as well as allowing him to rain boiling oil
and missiles on attackers below.

I think if each container has multiple of the item key, then that is what causes it to break. Since these are corpses, as far as I can tell, they don't meet the conditions stated in the explanation.
