Spoke with an imm who confirmed that loads for this start at 4+ - and as such I still believe this is bugged and was advised I could post.

slippery and smooth beneath your feet. Strange sconces line the walls,
giving off enough light for you to make out some odd objects to the east.

It's not clear how long you waited between Salan's death and going to the chest room, but if you do that too fast, none in your group will be counted, meaning you will not even get the load for a 1 or 2 person group.

The fact that you saw this:
op chest
A harsh, hot wind blows through the chamber.
A black mist rises and strips the equipment from the corpse, leaving a bloody mess
behind!
The mist rushes out of the room, taking the equipment with it!!
means you didn't stay put long enough. Remember, mobol is slow.

What if Salan dies in the chest room? Do you just have to wait a bit before opening the chest then, or how would that work?

Same deal, mobol needs a few seconds to get the trigger from his death to go and count all the players.

I, and presumably others, assumed the count happened long before his death when entering the area or something.

In a perfect world it seems like the count should involve all who participated in killing him (so it could best be applied to other smobs in closer proximity), but counting on zone seems less ideal than counting on kill. Especially if the same mobol is used elsewhere where random people enter the same zone as a smob. No?

I mean, his two rooms lock up behind you once the group enters. So it’s not completely off base to assume a count could happen then.
Just turns out that’s not the case it seems.

Elysia and I did some sleuthing and made a couple tweaks that might make this less susceptible to groups moving quickly after he dies. But as always, mobol is mobol so treat with care.
