Please just remove this useless mob/door you nerfed it so hard it doesn't even aggro now lol. I was toast anyways but still. Not sure why this was ever really downed...? Was it ever really a problem?

Wish they did it 20 years ago and 'fixed' Kerrigan, Taim, Selaana, Lan/Moraine and other absurd dung that randomly pops in zones where people actually pk. Sh, keep, tkd, tv, falme aren't zones where people pk on regular basis. If you hit a city be ready to deal with whatever guards it.

In most of cases SS and DS are lacking people to protect their cities. Thus having channie mob support really helps to make a stand against overwhelming odds, because regular patties/mobs are getting smashed easily and barely able to turn fight in your favour. But apparently there are few problems with that.

Roaming channie mobs are annoying/deadly for solo(low numbers) pk and frustrating for people who take risks and chase inside cities. They are also useless against city raids, because they die in few seconds to big groups. A good solution would be to remove all channeling mobs from streets and put them in a secret room and make city heads to callmob them in times of need. That would help protectors to make last stand at their city head while excluding channie mobs from regular pk.

On that note, oil and gate defenses are on the same level of stupidity as channeling mobs. But I guess this forum already has 100 threads with 100 pages each explaining the problem better than me.

In a Hidden Basement
Descending down into the darkness reveals a basement made of brick and mortar.
Suprisingly considering the condition of the rest of the manor this room is
well kept and clean. A wooden desk sits against the south wall with an unlit
candle and a number of loose papers on its top. Oddly a number of cots are
scattered around the room, each with rumpled blankets and dented pillows.

He seems to be aggroing properly.

They will aggro on standard aggro pulses -- they just won't assist you right away. This is a quirk of them being Known Darkfriend humans and not actual an Shadowspawn race. (They did aggro humans later in that fight than your snippet captures.)
