FIXED: Got a free superior staff at Stedding Shangtai

Today I asked the weaponsmith at The Hasty Decision in Stedding Shangtai to 'Make me a Superior Staff.' I had none of the items in my inventory to make the obsidian encrusted sungwood staff, yet he made the staff anyway. I never even gave him my own staff. In the end, it placed the superior staff in my inventory while I was still wielding my (retooled) sungwood staff. Maybe he just likes me, but I doubt that's why this happened.

The Hasty Decision
Cool stone walls carved with scenes of days long gone support a roof woven
from the branches that surround the building, pierced only by the chimney
of a red-hot forge. A large anvil sits immovably near the rear of the shop,
ever ready for the blacksmith to stamp his will on recalcitrant steel.
Storage racks adorn the walls, iron tongs and hammers too massive for a man
to lift merely workday tools for the muscled arms of the Ogier smith.

An Ogier master craftsman nods his head slowly and says, 'Very well then, I shall begin my work.'
An Ogier master craftsman holds up the staff of sungwood and examines the length of carved wood for
any defects.
An Ogier master craftsman says 'Excellent piece! This shall do nicely.'
An Ogier master craftsman picks up the pair of obsidian pendants and turns them over in his large
hands.
An Ogier master craftsman carefully removes the chunks of obsidian from their setting, and places
them in a large stone crucible.
An Ogier master craftsman places the crucible in the forge. The crucible begins to glow.
An Ogier master craftsman removes the crucible from the forge using a pair of huge tongs.
An Ogier master craftsman then takes the staff from the table and quickly dips the hard wood into
the molten obsidian.
An Ogier master craftsman places the smoldering staff in a vice and allows it to cool.
An Ogier master craftsman picks up the crystalline globe and braided leather band while he waits for
the staff to cool.
An Ogier master craftsman wraps the globe in the braided leather, and then attaches it to the head
of the staff.
An Ogier master craftsman grins as he holds up the finished product, his face seemingly split in two
by his huge mouth.
An Ogier master craftsman says 'There. This should do nicely. Use it well, Kali.'
