So ill just post the relevant stuff otherwise this will be a very long post. Removed one of the teams name.

Private Sitting Room
Elegant and well-made, but not overly garish furniture has been placed in
this sitting room. A small desk stands by the window and a collection of
chairs has been drawn up around a fireplace. A window looks out over a
verdant garden to the west, in which cherry trees, bougainvilleas and roses
grow. The view extends to the city below the hill the palace lies on, as
well as the River Boern and the forests of Ghealdan, all the way to the
snow capped peaks of the Mountains of Mist far to the west.

You have to scalp the cityhead last. People were sniping the cityhead, which lead to double stacked mobs. Neither of those was intended.

Was it a recent fix that killing/scalping cityheads first no longer flips the city, and would it ordinarily be posted on announcements?

It takes a bit of effort getting a group together for a hit, only to be surprised after completion that all the effort was wasted.

I think that it should have been clear to all that simply sniping the cityhead to get a whole city to turn, was not as intended :P

I’m sure there are situations where a “you should’ve known it wasn’t intended” reasoning would be appropriate for a fix not being afforded an announcement, but - given how the ‘unintended’ interaction isn’t clearly contrary to the announcement post of Jehannah as a CTF city (link below: “To makes it switch sides, kill the final smob and scalp.”), and the extended period in which this unintended interaction was possible - this doesn’t appear to be a situation where this reasoning would be appropriate.

I’m not of the view that every fix/change needs an announcement - but I am curious what the parameters would be for making such an announcement. I think it would be beneficial for the playerbase in general if they’re afforded the understanding on which kinds of gameplay fixes/changes get announced, so these feel-bad moments can be better avoided.

It’s fair enough if something isn’t actually intended and is therefore changed, but that wasn’t actually what my posts were about ;) Just trying to minimise the feel-bad moments for people who put the effort to group up.

May I ask what the criteria is for making an announcement ingame vs forums? The former reaches fewer players, doesn’t create a viewable record for whomever isn’t playing at the time, and difference in effort between the two seems minimal.

If there isn’t one and it’s more dependent on each individual imm, that’s fine too - at least the player base knows.

You got my upvote for that as well as things announced on Discord. Please staff please stop doing this. This is genuine please. I would not even use the forums if I did not have to if everything could go back to in game boards and in-game mail it would be great with me.

Well, blame the guy who upon announcing it immediately distracted me with a ton of reasons why this is a bad change, so after 5 mins and multiple conversations, it had slipped my mind. :P
