Quest Day - Saturday 5/9/26 - 7pm EST

Wilmastar Cake stared out from the desolate tower of his newly acquired keep, pondering. A man of middling years he had not yet gone to fat, but was clearly nearing the end of his prime. With gray eyes and graying hair, he looked bedraggled and tired. He was up all night, unable to sleep because of the cries of a child. Shifting slightly, he looked over his shoulder towards the small wailing child, bundled into a corner of the room. He rolls his eyes and nodded towards another man, who quickly made his way towards the child, hefting a strap of leather.

Caemlyn was abuzz with news of the noble’s missing child. While not uncommon for the small folk to lose their kin, it was almost unheard of for those of the gentry. In just two days the city was plastered with posters on nearly every clear surface, offering a reward for information or the child itself. There were even rumors that the Queen herself was involved, having ordered the Queens Guard to scour the city.

The highest ranking Queens Guard, Lord Adael Le’Ada, sat upon a small wooden stool behind a table and surveyed the line before him. He spent his entire morning meeting with those who claimed to have information. “I seent it sah, honest to the Creator,” an older woman, dressed in rags, sprayed at him. “Big dog, biggest dog you ever seent carried the child off. It was squawking for his mama and beggin’ me fer help!” The woman turned to face the line behind her and smiled, showing her two remaining teeth. She raised her voice and cried, “So I did wha’ anyone would do and I hefted a big rock…” But Adael cut her off, patting the air with his hand. “What gender was the child?” He asked simply. “Gender? Well, I don’ rightly know how high its pa or ma is sah.” She sputtered. The captain sighed and rolled his eyes towards the slatted roof above him before returning his attention to the old crone. “Was it a boy child or a girl child?” The old woman’s mouth fell open and closed, and she wrung her hands.

Lord Adael threw his hands up and nodded towards a nearby guard who walked forward and gently pulled the woman away. He beckoned Lord Jafra closer and leaned in, “Put out a notice, we’ve been at this for hours and we are getting nowhere. We need to extend the net, so to speak. Send runners to the rest of the world, we need more help.” He whispered, and Lord Jafra set off at once, shouting at the throng of people that stretched along the street to clear the way.
