How would one describe the story of Ashlynn?
Ashlynn grew up on a small farm in Altara. The family engaged in subsistence farming with a focus on raising livestock. One spring, when the family's cow gave birth, the calf did not appear like she would make it. This upset Ashlynn greatly, and she felt a strong river of emotions flow over her. Suddenly, the calf's condition changed for the better. Ashlynn named this calf "Princess". Later that year, during a modest crop harvest, a nasty strain of influenza affected the family's chickens. Her favorite hen, named "Amelia", was particularly sick and unable to lay. Much like what happened with Princess, she found that she was able to do something miraculous and cure the birds and their sickness. Her family managed to receive a windfall as a result since they were one of the few farms able to supply eggs in earnest during the tough times. Her father was able to sell his old plow and buy a brand new one as a result.
After all this was said and done, she spoke to a local wisdom, finding out that she probably channeled weaves of the One Power to Heal the livestock. The wisdom told her about the White Tower and that they knew how to teach girls how to use her gift. She had a tough decision to make: stay at home and help on the farm where her family needed her, or travel to the White Tower to learn more about her gift. She talked to her father about it, and despite him being upset at his little girl leaving, he knew that it was bound to happen one day and that it was the correct course of action. He traded his new plow for his old one and some coin so he could provide her with the money for her trip to Tar Valon.
She left Altara and by bad luck found herself in Amadicia. She asked about Tar Valon and got lots of rude stares and an uneasy feeling. Realizing her mistake, she concealed her gift and left the country quickly. From there, she traveled through the Two Rivers into Andor and ultimately met Aishling Sedai of the Green Ajah near Kintara. The girl and the Aes Sedai immediately traveled to Tar Valon, where she was inducted into the Book of Novices.
From there, she spent about six years as a novice, and twelve years as an Accepted, before attaining the shawl and joining the Yellow Ajah. She made many friends before this, such as Kali, Morella, and Eldrenia. She was sad to see that change as they attained the shawl before her, but she did not let that get in the way of her ultimate goal, and one day attained her own shawl, joining their ranks just the same.
