Background:
Born and raised in the Altaran outskirts of So Habor - closer to the border of Amador. Many traveling Whitecloaks would venture through these parts of Altara. Evaine's father, Artom, was abusive to both his children and his wife, Evaine's mother: Margo. When the beating got too intense, Margo used her marriage knife to end Artom's life and cause Evaine to flee her hometown. A letter given to Evaine from her mother was opened on her journey north, and she was shocked to learn the truth of her upbringing. Artom was a loyal spy for the Children of the Light, and having met Margo many years ago, he fell in love and chose to mary. Artom remained on the Altaran side of the border, but continued his clandestine opperations. As Evaine matured into her teenage years, she began experiencing odd occurences: flashes of random lights, levitating objects, and loud claps of thunder that seemingly came from no known source. Strange women began to visit Evaine's home; and began taking tea with Margo. Eventually Margo committed the truth to paper, and concealed it until the time was right. Upon Artom's death, Evaine fled with the letter in-hand, and learned that she potentially was born with the Spark. There was only one way to find out: an adventure to the White Tower.
On the way to Tar Valon she was plagued by natural threats of the weather and the wilderness. A roaming band of Tinkers took her in, fed her and provided her safe passage to Andor. From Caemlyn, she continued north until reaching the shimmering walls of Tar Valon where her fate was sealed.
