HEAL RESEARCH SUMMARY
by Maddy Mantear, Tower Accepted, Yellow Apprentice.
5th day of the month of Choren, year 1664.
PREMISE
Heal has changed and been enhanced. It is now much more powerful and efficient than previously due to being able to directly heal body parts if you combine it with the delve weave.
My main objective in this study is to find how much it costs in spell points (SP) to weave each body part as well as an all over heal. If it matters which body part is healed first, how many hit points (HP) it heals and in general where most of the damage occurs. Knowing this will enable us to optimize the use of spell points (SP) to speed up healing in the field. I also will measure how many spell points the different weaves use. I am not studying delve, but will use it to measure results.
TESTING
I am a Female Channeler (FC), Yellow Apprentice of the White Tower. I have 163 spell points (SP). I am level 51 Rank 4 with 17 Intelligence and 19 Will Power.
My percentage of weave training is Heal 99% Delve 93% until Participant 4 then I increased delve to 99%(Tolza Sedai said she could see more body part damage at that level)
With very appreciated participants, I tested how much each type of healing healed and how expensive each type was to use and if healing certain body parts first helped. I did about 80-100 of each test.
Test Subjects
- Perenelle Class Female Channeller (FC) Total Hit Points (HPS) 280 Level Survival 3 Def 301
-Fromage Class Female Channeller (FC) Total Hit Points (HPS) 280 Level Survival 5 Def not available
-Tolza Sedai Class Female Channeller (FC) Hit Points (HPS) 280 Level Survival 6
-Ominas Class Hunter Total Hit Points (HPS) 421 Level 7 Survival
-Twixt Class Warrior Total Hit Points (HPS) 405 Level Survival 6
-Trynhvar Class Rogue Total Hit Points (HPS) 395 Level Survival 6
Of Note
Along with human error, which is to be expected, we have to take into consideration the body's ability to heal itself given time. I used a pet to try to mitigate the anomalies for the first few tests, but found having the subject call out hit points after tic worked better as the pet slowed me.
Tests
-Heal the body to full, then alternate parts.
-Delve first, then healing the worst damaged body parts.
-General heal.
Defence
I started checking if there was any change in Defence but after the first few stopped as there was none. I did about 15 trials and noted that there was no change recorded.
CONCLUSION
-The average spell points (SP) used to heal the body, any body parts or even a general heal is 10 but the results vary.
-Delve uses 3 spell points(SP)
-Cure light uses 7 spell points (SP)
-Heal body/parts heals an average of 60-80 Hit Points(HP) The part healed did not change the amount healed other than a leg usually needs less than a body.
-General Heal heals an average of 40 Hit Points (HP).
-Cure Light heals about 20 Hit Points (HP)
-Delve does not heal.
Tick-healing was difficult to measure, but generally appeared to be: Regeneration 3–4 HP per half-tick
Regeneration 10 HP per tick for Female Channeler (FC)
Regeneration 14 HP per tick for a Rogue, Hunter, Warrior
As an added bonus, Accepted Perenelle and Tolza Sedai did a test on cure light. This used an average of 7 Spell Points and cured about 20 hit points. Overall this took about 80 spell points (SP) to get Tolza Sedai at her full 280 hit points (HP).
Perenelle and I had noticed that when weaves were used, they mostly hit only the body, but if a tree or combat was used the other body parts got equally damaged.
The part that is most often hit the worst is the body and it takes 3-4 times to heal a person to full (if healing the body) depending on the subject's level of hurt and hit points (HPS). A limb or head can take about 2.
After you heal any body part to full, your heals reduce in level for other body parts and eventually your healing reduces so greatly only a general heal will work. (ie: heal body to full try to heal leg its full already but will heal some but with reduced effect)
What is really nice about healing body parts with delve, as it tells you what level you have healed it to after each weave ( ie Ominas’ body is battered, Ominas’ leg is wounded) It would be nice if it gave a number and/or a degree of healed for a general heal as well.
Vianca Sedai has discontinued using delve due to her field testing. I may follow suit so I can optimize and add to my other support weaves, however this will mean losing the ability to see how much the body/or part is healed. When in the field the fighters won’t take time to wait for a delve and the results are time consuming to measure after the first part is healed. I have instinctively been healing the body to full, which generally gets them up to wounded and then they leave.
