What You Can Interact With On The Island

Post by Amilesa » Fri Jan 06, 2023 3:34 pm

Recently giving a Tower Guardsman Aspirant Ivran a tour of the Island, I starting thinking that I was only touching the surface. I knew that there were hangings and portraits I could look at, since the Gray Ajah Novice Lessons instruct us Novices to go look for them, but I was wondering what else there was.

So, I started taking a deeper look around the Tower. When that was done, I did the same to the City and then the rest of the Island that I had access to.

I didn't include all the failed attempts like look ceiling, look lamp, look mantle, open balcony, etc

It begs the question of what I have missed finding, and if there was any further interactions I could do with what I found.

But please see the below of what I found in each location. And please reply if you found anything else.

Wearied Novice Amilesa

---------------------------------------------------------

In the Spiralling Corridor
A ramp curves away out of sight to the west and east, connecting the floors
in the Tower. Leaves of several varieties curl and twine in the stonework
frieze, as well as the ribbing of the vaulted ceiling. The Ogier's work is
so life-like, the blossoms and leaves seem almost ready to flutter in a
breeze and fall to the brightly colored floor tiles. A wall hanging
depicting the fall of the city Londaren Cor during the Trolloc Wars
decorates the wall opposite where a corridor joins the ramp.
[ obvious exits: N E W ]
A young girl in a plain white dress stands here.

look hanging
Once the capital of Eharon, Londaren Cor lay near the River Eldar in what
is now Altara. It is said that the Ogier used all the knowledge gained from
building Tar Valon when they built Londaren Cor, rendering it the most
beautiful city ever built. Displayed on the wall hanging is a marvelous
city, with the Palace of the Moon sitting on one of three hills. Even in
the pattern displayed by the threads, it is obvious that the buildings are
in various shapes, a mark of Ogier workmanship.

Hallway Outside the Classrooms
This unremarkable gray stone hallway and landing off a stairwell is lined
with a number of doors, marked with the numbers one through twenty. Two
large double doors sit in a pointed archway on the northern end of the
corridor. A portrait of a woman wearing a seven-striped stole surrounded by
battle scenes hangs on the wall opposite the stairwell.

A woman with an ageless face stands here.

look portrait
Depicting Rashima Kerenmosa, the "Soldier Amyrlin", the battle scenes
surrounding this woman are very appropriate for her deeds when she was the
Amyrlin Seat. Raised from the Green Ajah, she served from 1251 - 1301 AB,
during the Trolloc Wars, not just as Amyrlin, but also as field general.
She is credited with orchestrating a great victory against the Shadow at
Maighande, which turned the tide in the wars.

---------------------

In the Classroom
A board of black slate hangs on the wall near the door, suggesting this
room is used as a classroom. The room is plain and windowless and has
enough place to seat thirty students. A dais with a desk sits at the front
of the room, where the Aes Sedai or Accepted teaching the class can sit.

Above the Stairwell
The gray stone floor of the hallway with red, green, gray and blue floor
tiles gives way to a narrow stairwell. A six-sided hanging lantern hanging
from the stairs' ceiling casts a flickering light on the steps, preventing
the area of being shrouded in darkness. A portrait of a woman wearing a
seven-striped stole hangs on the gray stone wall opposite the stairs.

This portrait depicts Elisane Tishar, the first Amyrlin Seat. She was
raised in 98 AB. She is credited with organizing and allying several
diverse factions to form the modern Aes Sedai and beginning the
construction of Tar Valon. She was instrumental in founding the White Tower
and shaping it into what it has become.

-----------------------------

In the Hallway
This gray stone hallway is plain looking, although its floor tiles of red
and green liven up the area. Two tapestries of flowered trees and
stout-beaked birds hang on the wall, so colorful they seem unlikely to be
real. An unmarked wooden door lies between the tapestries.

In the Spiralling Corridor
A wavy pattern of red, white, blue, yellow, green, gray and brown floor
tiles encloses the pale white stone that forms the floor of the broad
spiralling ramp. Curving around the center of the Tower like a serpent, it
connects all floors. A wall hanging of the battle of Hai Caemlyn hangs on
the inner wall, its fragile threads being held together by the One Power.

exa hanging
On the site of what is now the inner city of Caemlyn once lay the Ogier
built city of Hai Caemlyn. Like the other cities in Coremanda, it fell
during the Trolloc Wars. The wall hanging shows a city of light gray stone
on top of a hill, surrounded by a dark army of Shadowspawn. On the right
side of the painting, darkness encroaches and fires reveal twisted shadows.

A Long, Portrait-Lined Hallway
Floor tiles in various hues of gray, such as pewter, dove and slate cover
the floor of the hallway, interspersed with pure white floor tiles marked
with a gray Flame of Tar Valon. A number of large portraits line the
corridor. Each image shows a woman with an ageless face wearing a
seven-striped stole. These are all sisters who were raised to Amyrlin from
the Gray Ajah. A frieze depicting olive branches, their blossoms and fruits
decorates the uppermost part of the pale, white stone wall.

Large lead glass windows sit in the western wall of this moderately sized
room, flooding the room with the atmosphere from outside. A large fireplace
in the eastern wall provides ample heat to offset the cold which sometimes

a number of quill pens. Two matched chairs sit before the desk ready to

Large, leaded glass windows surround the room on all sides, save the
southern where a large doorway leads out into a antechamber. The room
itself is dominated by a large wooden table around which sits at least
fifty matching chairs, something close to a record for the White Tower. In
the middle of the table are an assortment of unused parchments, quill pens
and stoppered ink jars. A small stand off to one side of the room holds a
large number of glass cups and a large pitcher of chilled water. An

In the Sloping Hallway
Constricting the spine of the structure, this curving corridor snakes its
way upwards. The pale white stone that gives the White Tower its name
covers all surfaces, excepting two colorful bands of floor tiles in a wavy

that adorns the wall above a wall hanging that depicts a city being
destroyed during the Breaking of the World.

In the Curving Hallway
Stark white walls of pale stone give a solemn and cold appearance, were it
not for the bands of colorful tiles on the floor. A sizeable wall hanging
of the fall of Malkier decorates the inner curve of the spiralling hallway,
which bends out of sight towards the west and east. Tall, gilded stand

wall hanging. Spots of light dot the darkness, with cookpots set on them.
In the distance, a few people can be seen in the passes, fleeing the land
right before it was overrun by the Shadow.

In the Corridor
A band of reen floor tiles coming in from the north, mingles with a band of
blue floor tiles coming in from the south, finally forming a checkered
pattern. A stairwell of pale white stone, lit by iron hanging lamps leads
to the other floors in the Tower. A painting hangs on the wall opposite the

This portrait is of Sereille Bagand, born in Far Madding and raised from

having been tough and a severe disciplinarian, placing strict importance on
rules and proprieties. She used that toughness and discipline to become one
of the greatest Amyrlins in history, raising the influence and prestige of
the White Tower to levels seldom equaled since before Artur Hawkwing.

On the Curving Ramp
This serpentine corridor coils itself around the spine of the Tower,
snaking its way upwards. An artfully carved frieze of protruding leaves of
differing kinds runs along the top of the wall, just below the curvature of
the arched ceiling. A massive wall hanging of the battle surrounding the
fall of the Jaramide city of Barsine hangs on the inner wall.

A view of a grand city has been crafted from a multitude of threads in

dotted with flocks of ravens. In the middle of the scene, a large group of
horsemen charges towards a horde of Shadowspawn, their grotesque animal
features shown prominently at the bottom right.

On the Spiralling Ramp
A wide corridor spirals upwards from somewhere below, curving out of sight
towards the west and east. The colorful pattern of bright floor tiles that
hems in the pale white floor slabs changes subtly to include more brown

Before Closed Brown Doors
The landing on this stairwell has a floor of tiles in various hues of
brown. A pair of plain double doors, polished and with brass handles lie to
the north, closed and locked as the Brown Ajah resides on a higher floor. A

Finely carved white stone juniper leaves and cones form a frieze just
underneath the curvature of the arched ceiling, as well as cornices above
the doors that line the hallway. Decorating the pale walls are a multitude
of portraits of women wearing the staff and stole, all images of Amyrlins
who were raised from the Blue Ajah. Floor tiles is innumerable hues of blue
have been laid in a wavy pattern.

Continuing Down the Hallway
The vaulted corridor of pale white stone meets floor tiles in every shade
of blue, from a pale morning sky to the deep violet of twilight. The wavy
pattern of the tiles gives a hint of grandeur. Simple decorated gilded

l adaire
The portrait's perspective suggests that a tall woman is looking back down
at you with sky-blue eyes. The painter has masterfully captured the small
details, such as a faint dimple on the woman's cheek as she smiles and
brushes a mess of blond curls back. Any dust that floats near the painting
or ribbons is gently repelled.

A Long, Portrait-Lined Hallway
An Ogier artisan's carved frieze of fine cedar leaves, flowers and cones
rests just underneath the curvature of the arched ceiling. Livening up the
pale white stone walls are a number of large, colorful portraits, each an
image of an Amyrlin which was raised from the Yellow Ajah. Faceted gilded
stand lamps, polished to a sparkling shine line the hallway. A large plaque
gleams in their light, as a reminded to newer Sisters to control the
ambitions that often run wild with talented Healers.

A Bend in the Path
White benches border the path to either side and lawns of green grass
surround each bench. The White Tower rises over eighty spans in the air to
the southeast, dwarfing everything in the vicinity. Short shrubs butting up
against the sides of the Tower have been pruned to resemble miniature
trees. The white gravel path turns east and south past a bare rock garden
consisting of rocks that have been placed into the shape of a mountain. An

gray granite boulders. At the base of the mountain, large blocks of
speckled granite support the smaller boulders and rocks above. Towering on

but stunted as if it has had to struggle to stay alive. Sprouting from the
tree's limbs are a multitude of pink blossoms reaching for the sun's light.

between two walls, it has been planted with shade loving plants. Hydrangeas
in white, pink and purple mingle with bristleboughs with thin, finger-like

Tower Square
At the corner of the square, the dazzling pearl white buildings of Tar
Valon surround the square. In the center of the square is the White Tower,
walled off from the rest of the city. To the south the Air Avenue flows
into the square from the Alindaer Gate in the southwest secion of the city.
In the center of the square, atop a pedestal of blue veined white marble,
is the polished silver statue of a regal Aes Sedai. Surrounding the base of

a queen could not have held herself with more majesty than the figure of
this woman. The shawl draped over her shoulders is studded with thousands
of sparkling sapphires that glitter in the light like blue lightning.

Cupped in her upturned silver palm is an eternally burning flame that casts
shadows of itself on the polished silver of her dress and causes the
sapphires of her shawl to burn with its flame. The flowing script on the
base of the statue reads: In memory of Ciel Sedai, the eternal Flame of the

This is a small alley sneaking off from Southharbor Boulevard. This area

A Hide Tent
Bleached and cured hide is stretched over a frame of thin willow twigs, the
faint dappled patterns remaining on the skins betraying their origins. A
folding cot is pushed against one wall of the tent, a bloodstained mattress
spotted with dank mould lying abandoned. Wooden mugs and cutlery litter a

Figures of Stone
Verdant trunks of alder and paperbark surround a statue carved from glossy
stone. A muscular, bearded youth, stripped to the waist and chiselled from
rock of the deepest jet pours water from a jar onto the ground. Behind him,
a maiden in flowing robes carved of the purest alabaster holds graceful
fingers over his eyes. Strands of chainvine curl across the ground,
withering to nothing as they approach the statue, which remains unspoiled
by the incessant passage of time, untouched by moss or strangling vine.

A Bracelet of Thorns
Surrounded on all sides by dense banks of coiled blackthorn, the clearing
is the eye of a chaotic whirlwind of cruelly-barbed briars. Shreds of white
cloth adorn the thorns to the west, testament to a struggled passage. The
ground is moist, the rich earth covered in tangled coils of bindweed. In
the gaps beneath the thornbushes, bluebells brightly sparkle. A tiny
metallic glint winks from among the white flowers that stud the briars.

A Leatherleaf Stand
Lush greenery carpets the ground, pausing only where a group of fine,
sturdy leatherleafs erupt from the soil. The trees huddle together as if
beset by the cold, their thick leaves layered like parchment. Lodged in the
