Ajahs In The Last Battle

Post by Chloro » Thu Aug 04, 2022 1:21 am

In the Classroom
A board of black slate hangs on the wall near the door, suggesting this
room is used as a classroom. The room is plain and windowless and has
enough place to seat thirty students. A dais with a desk sits at the front
of the room, where the Aes Sedai or Accepted teaching the class can sit.
[ obvious exits: W ]
Zone: White Tower Upper Floors
Door west: door
Coshe Neofedd, Tower Accepted is standing here.
Lady Relena ni Arbela is sitting here.
Jenda Sharaad is standing here.
Mariah the Tower Accepted is standing here.
Tigiria al'Raln, Wearied Novice is sitting here.
Hypatia the Fledgling Novice is sitting here.
Lady Raeza Dovoros is sitting here.
A haughty young woman strides by practicing Aes Sedai serenity.

The open door to the classroom sways slightly from a rather large gust of wind ( Mariah )

Coshe sits at at desk and pulls out her notebook, quill and inkwell

Chloro gracefully glides to the door closing it.

Chloro says 'Mariah you will be on door duty.'

Mariah attempts to perform a curtsy seated.

Mariah gives the door a look, measuring it for all its worth.

Tigiria taps her fingers on the desktop.

Chloro glides to the front of the classroom, an easel standing next to the desk, the top sheet a pin wheel of the seven Ajah colors. “Please all be seated. I request you keep all questions till the
end of the lesson. Also keep all eating and drinking till the end, you may do so now if you are in need.”

Tigiria sits down.

Raeza blinks her eyes innocently.

Hypatia shifts slightly to adjust her seat

Mariah tilts her head to the side, then nods along.

Coshe nods slowly.

Chloro looks about the room to the ranks that have attended and nods to her sisters in the back. “Today we will be discussing possible rolls of the different Ajah’s in the last battle. During my many years here one thing seems to be a common theme.”

Relena nods, bells jingling.

Tigiria taps her fingertips a little more rapidly and in a different cadence.

Tigiria stills her hands.

Chloor says 'While many of you know the widespread Ajah mottos, few have knowledge of what they are capable of.'

Raeza nods slowly.

Chloro flips the top sheet on the easel to reveal a blue bordered sheet beneath.” We will begin with the blue and move clockwise as the Ajah wings are mapped out above us.”

Jenda smiles faintly.

Mariah places her hands in front of her on the desk.

Chloro says 'The Blue Ajah is known for pursuing justice and causes personal to the Sedai within it. However, what most seem to not know is the Blue Ajah also produces master interrogators and spies. In the last battle they may be used to interrogate dark friends and dread lords.'

Chloro says 'They may also at great cost to themselves go behind enemy lines feeding reports to us on dark spawn movements and helping to prepare for counter attacks against the shadow. It has been said a Blue sister will take her secrets into the grave instead of giving them up. '

Chloro pauses a moment to allow her words to sink in.

Coshe smiles slightly.

Hypatia shivers slightly as her breathing comes faster.

Chloro looks about the room then moves on.

Tigiria squints up at the seven circles above Chloro's head.

Jenda tilts her head in question.

Mariah bites her bottom lip very slightly, looking off to the side in thought.

Chloro flips the sheet a yellow border beneath. “The Yellow Ajah along with the Green and Red is one of the most widely known around continent, the most skilled healers known to man. Yet they are so much more. Yellow sisters serve not only to heal the sick and injured, but they often are also on the front lines of battle to ensure fighters can keep up the fight.

Chloro says 'Many Yellow sisters have been credited with developing new cures for illnesses along with tracking outbreaks and teaching non channeling healers out in the world. In the last battle they would serve both as medics and front-line healers hurling saidar at the shadow while keeping out fighting force running.'

Jenda gives a slight bow with a subdued flourish of her riding dress.

Tigiria turns her head towards the ruffling behind her.

Chloro says 'Do not let the buttercup yellow of their gowns fool you, the Yellow Ajah has produced some of fiercest battle sisters outside of the Green and Red that the White Tower has known.'

Raeza looks at Jenda with a slight smirk.

Tigiria smiles at Jenda.

Chloro looks about the room to gage the reaction at some finding out the yellows are not fluffy bunnies.

Coshe nods slowly.

Jenda winks suggestively at you.

Chloro flips the sheet an eggshell white abstract border around the writing. “The White Ajah I found was one of mystery to most initiates. At this time most of its sisters are called away, yet that is no reason not the learn about this Ajah.

Hypatia looks curiously at the Aes Sedai's dresses and Shawls.

Chloro says 'The White Ajah is devoted to reason, unburdened by emotion. Philosophers and inventors, they are capable of thinking outside the box to an extent most cannot. Your food, books, the White tower, and the repositories all benefit from the wards maintained by them. '

Chloro says 'Through Mathematical calculations and their mastery of saidar, White sisters can produce wards with the highest benefit and least amount of drain on the weaver. In the last battle they may serve to build protective wards around the war camps and move refugees or supplies through carefully maintained gateways away from battle. '

Relena has returned.

The door is opened from the other side.

Tigiria looks at Mariah and points at the door.

Chloro incline's her head in greeting to Draz.

Chloro says 'Mariah the door please.'

Mariah stands up and strolls to the door to shut it

Mariah closes the door.

Jenda beams a smile at Draz.

Relena has an unreadable expression.

Chloro continues where she left off.

Coshe looks at Raeza Sedai and smiles.

Tigiria looks at Draz.

Chloro says 'White sisters may also aid the Red Ajah in shielding channelers pledged to the dark while they are awaiting interrogation. '

Hypatia shivers uncomfortably.

Chloro says 'For more information on this I encourage you all to seek private lessons from the White Ajah.'

Raeza nods in agreement.

Tigiria turns around and looks at Raeza with a wide-eyed expression.

Tigiria whips back around to Chloro.

Chloro flips the sheet quickly a crimson splatter bordering the next sheet. “The Red Ajah, I have found has the most misconceptions about it. While it is a policing force for those who can channel, male and female alike, it also has a wide range of what it can do. Red sisters are also known for breaking blocks on wilders, reading residues of other channelers, and shielding.

Chloro says 'In the last battle Red sisters would be going toe to toe with channelers who are pledged to the dark, along with assisting the Blue Ajah to ferret out any dark friends in our ranks. As troubling as it may seem agents of the dark have been found in all highs and lows of life. From kings to beggars. '

Coshe shivers uncomfortably.

Chloro says 'The Red Ajah also may be called to assist in battle linking with untrained women to create full circles to produce larger more devastating weaves against the shadow. Reds being masters in saidar and how it works would be able to easily judge when a woman is spent and release her from the circle. '

Hypatia glances around the room, biting her lower lip.

Chloro looks about the room seeing how that last bit of information sinks in. “As we continue this lesson, I encourage you all to think outside the box the next time you consider an Ajah. Each is made up of different women with many talents that can overlap with other Ajahs.”

Coshe nods slowly as she takes down some notes.

Chloro flips the sheet once more a smoky border billowing over the white parchment. “The Gray Ajah are known as mediators, judges, and skilled negotiators. This Ajah has brokered peace between nations and helped to end Hawkwings siege on Tar Valon. Yet have you ever considered what they might do when peace is not an option in the last battle?

Chloro says 'The Gray Ajah with sisters placed in each nation would ride forth with rulers and armies at their backs for the north bringing supplies, weapons, and fighters to reinforce the north against the shadow and bolster our forces for the last battle. Grays may even ride into battle with kings and queens of the nations they are stationed in to attempt a safe return for the Monarchs. '

Coshe thinks tapping her quill against her bottom lip.

Chloro says 'The Gray Ajah would also see to peace among the camps of so many countries and aid the Whites in relocating refugees to the south away from war. A versatile Ajah just like the others inter woven into politics to produce results.'

Relena nods, bells jingling.

Coshe nods slightly

Chloro pauses a moment looking to those in attendance. “During the last two Ajahs I would like you to take careful notes. They are the most widely known and, in some respect, the largest ajahs. Yet who here truly knows their capabilities?”

Jenda whispers something to Relena.

Jenda grins at Relena.

Chloro flips the sheet to a mahogany bordered parchment, “The Brown Ajah is known to safeguard knowledge against the ravages of time so we will not forget what has been learned. Yet they are skilled experimenters as well in objects of the one power. Many brown sisters have given their lives to discover the uses of various objects of the one power.

Coshe thinks to herself as she takes notes.

Jenda laughs softly.

As you watch Draz seems to melt into the background, vanishing.

Chloro say 'In the last battle our cashes of Terangreal, Angreal, and Saangreal will be emptied and used to increase our channeling effectiveness against the shadow. Browns will lead this effort and handle the distribution along with noting each object given and to whom. Should the light survive, no object will be left where it could fall into the wrong hands.'

Mariah turns her head to look behind her at the sound of laughter from the back.

Tigiria does a double-take as Draz appears to vanish before her eyes.

Chloro says 'Due to the Brown Ajahs research, its sisters will also give weather reports, judge battle fields based on soil composition, flora and fauna that may help or hinder our forces. The Browns would also have the task of recording both our victories and our failures during the last battle so future generations can learn from them. A hard task to oversee chronicling.'

Tigiria tugs on Mariah's sleeve and points towards where Draz was.

Chloro says 'I will pause for a moment so you girls can finish your notes before we move onto the last Ajah.'

Mariah wrests her dress from the Novice and nods her head back to the teacher for her attention.

Coshe looks at Tigiria briefly and motions her to look back to Chloro Sedai.

Relena says 'Regarding the last battle, it seems appropriate.'

Tigiria gives Mariah a pleading look.

Tigiria looks back at Chloro.

Coshe taps her quill into her inkwell.

Jenda arches an eyebrow.

Chloro nods to her Green sister and observes the girls.

Mariah quietly reassures the Novice that they'll talk later.

Chloro says 'We are fortunate to have both a Green Sister and Gaidin for this next bit.'

Draz smiles happily.

Mariah looks for where Draz vanished to the door, reassuring herself.

Draz bows before Relena.

Hypatia looks up at the ceiling, focusing on the last, green circle, as she ponders.

Chloro pauses to let the girls finish their notes before flipping to a sheet bordered in emerald. “The Green Ajah also referred to as the Battle Ajah stands ready in preparation for the last battle. Most of its sisters are known to hurl themselves and their multiple warders against the shadow to stave the dark sides numbers. Yet these women possess another gift.

Jenda murmers ' let's just keep it age appropriate.'

Tigiria screws up her face as Draz reappears.

Chloro says 'The Green Ajah I consider the most emotionally strong women in the tower. Their ability to hold more than one bond at a time and care for more than one warder is an ability all their own. Along with its natural purpose to fight on the front lines, Green sisters have another deeper purpose for those in the last battle.'

Mariah gives Draz a measuring look, wondering how far he could be hurled.

Raeza smirks.

Jenda nods in respect.

Coshe ponders Chloro Sedai's words.

Chloro says 'Not all things will be good, not all Sedai will survive the last battle, some sisters may fall. Should their warders survive it is Green sisters that would take over their bonds attempting to salvage them from the deep anguish of losing a bond mate. The bond transfers all emotions, joy, pain, anger. To handle these for not only yourself but multiple people is a rare quality. '

Relena says 'In this we rely heavily on the Yellow Ajah for our own mental support.'

Jenda briefly places a hand on Relena's shoulder.

Coshe makes a note in her notebook, tapping her quill lightly in the inkwell.

Chloro looks about the room letting her words sink in. “The next time you see a Green sister in the hall keep this lesson in mind, there is more to them than fire balls and shields.”

Tigiria begins to look awfully teary at Chloro's comment.

Raeza looks at Relena.

Chloro nods to her Green and Yellow Sisters."A perfect example of things overlapping Ajahs"

Relena says 'We seem to be safe, for now.'

Coshe nods slowly.

Relena whispers something to Mariah.

Chloro flips to a final sheet the border a pin wheel of the Ajahs again.

Hypatia looks confusedly at Tigiria.

Tigiria sniffs and looks over at Hypatia.

Mariah whispers something to Relena.

Chloro says 'Before deciding on an Ajah to purse if you are not apprenticed yet, ask yourself two questions. Outside of what you have heard today, will you be happy in daily life assuming that role? Does it align with your passion in life? When you join an Ajah, you will be spending the next 300 years or more among these women. Make sure you are choosing correctly, no one will fault you for taking time with the choice.'

Mariah glances over at Novice Tigiria, looks around the room briefly, then reaches over a hand and places it comforting on the Novice's arm.

Jenda nods in agreement.

Relena nods, bells jingling.

Chloro smiles warmly at those gathered. “I will now open the floor for questions. Please raise your hand if you wish to speak.”

Tigiria offers an awkward smile in return.

Coshe thinks tapping her quill on her lip.

Hypatia ponders life, the universe, and everything.

Raeza offers Tigira a knowing glance from an otherwise expressionless face.

Mariah returns her hand to her lap, not wanting to impose on the Novice's space for much longer.

Hypatia timidly raises a hand.

Chloro nods to Hypatia

Hypatia says 'how is it that we use those weapons that were made with the one power?'

Raeza looks at Draz.

Raeza frowns.

Mariah opens the door.

Mariah closes the door.

You sense Relena connecting to the True Source.

Chloro says 'This is a good question, the objects we have are mostly from the age of legends. We ourselves did not make them but the second oath does not exclude us from using them.'

Mariah grimaces.

Hypatia shifts uncofortably, having drawn attention to hersoelf on her first day.

Coshe smiles softly at Hypatia.

Mariah whispers something to Relena.

You sense Jenda connecting to the True Source.

You sense Jenda is channeling saidar.

Jenda gestures briefly at Relena, who now appears more impressive somehow.

Jenda says 'Is relena now a weapon i made? '

Tigiria says 'Possibly? How do you...define...a weapon, Aes Sedai?'

Relena says 'Let it be so. The creator has woven us together, sister.'

Raeza ponders life, the universe, and everything.

Tigiria looks over at Raeza and shrugs.

Jenda winks at Relena.

Jenda says 'Stronger together. '

Relena says 'We can strain language to the breaking point but a direct interpretation is best.'

Raeza rubs her chin, seemingly in thought.

Relena says 'A weapon is a weapon. If I say hand me that weapon and a dagger and angreal are on a table, most would reach for the dagger.'

As you watch Draz seems to melt into the background, vanishing.

Relena says 'The Angreal are a tool to channel'

Chloro nods in agreement with Relena."No weapon for which one MAN may kill ANOTHER."

Relena says 'An oilstone is not a weapon, though it keeps a weapon sharp'

Tigiria says 'A tool is not it's use, okay yes.'

Tigiria nods to herself.

Raeza writes down some notes.

Hypatia says 'what of the fabled sword that the Tairens talk of?'

Tigiria says 'Or...Justice?'

Jenda looks to Chloro... ' Respectfully, sister, may I? the Oaths matter most in your own view point. If you do not feel that you've made a weapon specifically by the wording of the oaths. Or spoke no word that is not true, then you haven't broken an oath.'

Raeza tucks the paper with notes into her purse.

Chloro smiles warmly."Well spoken Jenda sedai."

Relena defers to Raeze Sedai on the finer points.

Hypatia says 'I guess, and these are not being made by sisters who swore the oaths.'

Jenda smiles at you.

Tigiria says 'Well I think they were made before the oaths were a thing?'

Hypatia says 'but they are dangerous to use? just like you said the one power can be dangerous to the wielder?'

Jenda smirks and mutters under her breath, 'a thing...'

Tigiria says 'I heard today from um, oh shoot which Sedai, that they were all from the Age of Legends.'

Tigiria says 'And this place was totally different.'

Tigiria stops herself and looks around.

Chloro nods to Tigiria."A topic for another class. Though if we are finished with this topic I believe Coshe was next."

Mariah shares a look with her fellow Accepted, then gets out a piece of paper and writes down a few
subjects in list form.

Tigiria sinks a little in the chair.

Hypatia beams a smile at Tigiria.

Coshe says 'Thank you Chloro Sedai, when the final battle happens what would be the role of the Accepteds? and novices? As well I was wondering about the gray ajah would they also negotiate to retrieve angreal from nations that have them in their own vaults?'

Tigiria smiles up at Hypatia

Jenda lifts a brow and nods slowly at Coshe, showing a slight smile.

Raeza writes more notes, "Is Relena a weapon? Seems unlikely a man will use her to kill another man regardless, unless her relationship with her warders is different than one would expect. Think on this."

Raeza tucks the paper into her purse.

Relena beams a radiant smile at you.

Jenda grins at Relena.

Coshe smiles softly at Relena.

Mariah notices how Relena Sedai's smile fills the room.

Chloro smiles proudly at the question. "Your mentors show through you Coshe. While this is all hypothetical, in the last battle Accepted may be called to defend camps or assist with escorting supply wagons. Any with healing abilities would be assisting our Yellow sisters."

Jenda nods at you.

Coshe nods as she takes notes.

Tigiria sinks a little further.

Raeza looks at Tigiria and smirks.

Jenda looks at Tigiria.

Chloro says 'Novices would be kept from battle as much for their safety as others. Assisting with relocating refugees and organizing children.'

Raeza offers a slight smile.

Tigiria sits up again and folds her hands on the desk.

Chloro says 'Do we have any other questions?'

Tigiria lifts her hand.

Chloro says 'Yes Tigiria?'

Tigiria says 'How will we know when the Last Battle is nigh?'

Relena has an unreadable expression.

Raeza writes more notes, "Armor likely does not make Relena a weapon. Maybe teaching her to throw fireballs did, though."

Raeza slips the paper into her purse.

Coshe thinks on that question, tapping her quill in her inkwell.

Jenda says 'And it shall come to pass that what men made shall be shattered... '

Jenda laughs softly.

Draz thinks hard.

Draz says 'personally, I think Relena Sedai was always a weapon'

Jenda nods at Draz.

Coshe beams a smile at Draz.

Chloro looks to her sisters and then back to the girls gathered."One can not truly say when it will come. Yet with the blight stirring and so many young channelers coming to us. One could view that as a sign."

Jenda says 'My weapon of choice. '

Raeza looks up suddenly, and covers her notes with her hand.

Mariah whispers something to Draz.

Tigiria grins evilly.

Tigiria says 'Oh, ok. Thank you, Aes Sedai.'

Raeza offers a slight smile as she scans the novices in the room.

Jenda says 'It's all in the Karaethon Cycle, really '

Chloro arches her eyebrow. "That is nothing to be pleased with child. For the last battle as much as we hope it will not. May break us a new."

Jenda nods at you.

Mariah represses a shiver.

Tigiria looks back at Jenda with interest.

Chloro says 'Final call for questions.'

Tigiria looks forward again 'Oh, I am not pleased Aes Sedai at all.'

Tigiria says 'Forgive me if I gave that impression.'

Chloro nods at Tigiria.

Chloro says 'Well then.'

Chloro says 'That concludes the lesson.'

With that many Aes Sedai involved, I assume this was already awarded. If not, please reply.
