Summary: Isela meets with Ashlynn Sedai a few days after inducting Evse as a new Novice in the Tower to review her interview. The discussion evolves into a roleplay for further practice.
Point of view: Isela
Main character: Ashlynn

Solarium of the Yellow Ajah
Tall, arched windows offer a view of the island of Tar Valon and the
confluence of the river Erinin beyond Southharbor, as the river starts on
its journey to Tear. Pots and plants dot the balcony outside the windows.
Chairs have been drawn up near the windows and vases containing bouquets of
of yellow flowers have been placed nearby. Several desks and clusters of
chairs have been distributed around the room, allowing for informal
discussion of Yellow Sisters' research and studies.
Sumptuously upholstered, a gold brocade chaise lounge with gilded legs rests nearby.
A large desk made of fine, thick wood stands across the room from here.
A couple of chairs made of red oak rest next to the table.
Lady Ashlynn Alessandri is standing here.
A Yellow Sister glides past.
A silver-haired Aes Sedai sits here, reading.
Corele Hovian stands here with concern in her eyes.
Isela drops into a low curtsy.
Ashlynn smiles happily.
Ashlynn looks at Isela.
Isela gives a cup to Ashlynn.
Isela gives a plate of sausages and vegetables to Ashlynn.
Isela gives a water skin to Ashlynn.
Ashlynn says 'Hello, Accepted. Please, have a seat.'
Ashlynn sits down on a chaise lounge.
Isela allows a small smile.
Isela sits down on a stout oaken chair.
Ashlynn gestures at the door with her hand.
The door silently swings shut and lock with a soft *click*.
Ashlynn says 'How have you been as of late? I hear you were fighting some terrible threat up north.'
Isela nods gravely.
Isela says 'I heard word of the dreadlord Lisennet, and came to Draz Gaidin's aid.'
Isela says 'Unfortunately it did not end well, as we chased her into the Ruined Keep itself, but were beat back.'
Ashlynn nods, her green eyes sparkling.
Ashlynn says 'I heard Draz Gaidin fell.'
Isela nods. 'I fumbled my weaves and he missed a fateful bash at the same time.'
Isela sighs.
Isela says 'Using this new advanced way to slice another's weaves that was just discovered has been... interesting, to say the least.'
Ashlynn nods, her green eyes sparkling.
Ashlynn says 'I have not had the opportunity to test it. I suppose it's possible the pattern might otherwise alter how the weave works at some point.'
Ashlynn says 'Or maybe we are just stuck with it. Who knows?'
Isela says 'It certainly is more powerful. Once mastered, we'll be able to beat them back.'
Ashlynn nods, her green eyes sparkling.
Ashlynn says 'We must not lose hope. '
Ashlynn says 'Anyway...'
Ashlynn yawns.
Isela nods, tilting her head.
Isela says 'I hope she is getting along well so far. I haven't come across her since the induction.'
Isela folds her hands neatly in her lap.
Ashlynn says 'Me either. I am sure she is fine.'
Ashlynn says 'Anyway, I am sure you had some time to review your performance.'
Ashlynn says 'I wanted to discuss it in detail today, to help you learn and grow further. If you become an Aes Sedai, you will be performing that task often.'
Ashlynn says 'Let's go ahead and begin.'
Ashlynn clambers to her feet.
Isela sits up, her back straight. 'I'm ready to discuss it, Aes Sedai.'
Ashlynn walks over to the desk, retrieving a folder from the drawer.
Ashlynn sits down at the desk, and pulls the chair up to it. She then takes some papers from within the folder.
Ashlynn looks up at Isela, before asking her the first question.
Ashlynn says 'What are some of the things you did during the interview of the inductee that you felt you did well?'
Isela clears her throat softly.
Ashlynn retrieves an inkwell from another drawer of the desk, placing it on the surface.
Isela says 'I feel I did well to relay the severity of the girl's situation while also offering some affirmation of her choice to seek us out.'
Isela says 'Taking your lead, I paused to confirm her understanding at multiple points and kept the process moving swiftly.'
Ashlynn produces an exquisitely colored quill pen from her bag, dipping it in the inkwell. She begins writing onto another piece of paper.
Isela sits back slightly, waiting.
Ashlynn nods, her green eyes sparkling.
Ashlynn says 'Thank you for sharing. For my second question, what are some things you believe you did not do so well during the interview?'
Isela gives a slight nod. 'At the beginning of the interview I allowed Evse to lead me a bit as she told her story. It was difficult to keep her under control.'
Isela says 'There was also one point at which I was unsure how to proceed, and I approached your desk. Instead of fully pausing for guidance, I charged ahead.'
Ashlynn says 'Remind me some about that, as my memory is fuzzy.'
Ashlynn says 'I recall calling you over at one point, but I feel as if this may have been a different time.'
Isela nods in agreement.
Isela says 'I wanted to further clarify with you about whether the Tower allows girls the choice to join, even after they've begun channeling.'
Ashlynn nods, her green eyes sparkling.
Isela says 'I chose to continue on because of what you mentioned previously during the induction.'
Ashlynn says 'I remember now.'
Ashlynn says 'Let me explain a bit about that.'
Ashlynn says 'So long as there is no prior record of a girl being inducted in the Tower, so long as there is no reason to believe she serves the Shadow, except in EXTREME obvious cases, a girl is generally always accepted into the Tower, regardless of their potential strength in the One Power.'
Ashlynn says 'I believe I nodded at you when you made a similar assertion, giving you the go ahead to proceed.'
Isela nods, a slight frown of thought still on her face.
Ashlynn says 'Now in some cases, an Aes Sedai that is well-trained in the subject, might be able to detect whether a girl has nearly zero potential in the One Power, I suppose, and decline to induct them due to a determination that they will not ever develop into a danger to themselves or others.'
Ashlynn says 'However, this is rare, and the usual procedure is to induct the girl into the Tower.'
Ashlynn says 'It appears you have something more to say about the subject, please go on.'
Isela says 'What you say makes sense to me. I suppose the question that still lingers is regarding offering them a choice during the interview.'
Isela continues 'I chose not to consult you again during the induction because I figured that though we appear to offer them a choice, our job is to actually lead them to join, and to ensure they do.'
Isela says 'Is that correct?'
Ashlynn says 'That is correct. Very good observation.'
Isela nods, a small smile appearing on her face.
Ashlynn says 'It is good rhetorical practice. When you are bound to the oaths, you must learn how to speak so that a person does what you want them to do. Often, the best way is to make them think they have a choice, and are making the choice you want them to make, on their own.'
Ashlynn says 'Since you cannot outright lie to them or otherwise deceive them...in...what I will call, conventional ways...Because it is not really deception, moreso persuasion.'
Ashlynn says 'Other than their vast knowledge, why do you think we send Aes Sedai advisors to the Kings and Queens of the nations?'
Isela nods. 'This exercise gave me a real-world example to practice that. I appreciate it.'
Ashlynn nods, her green eyes sparkling.
Ashlynn says 'You have to start small, too. This was just a young, naive farmgirl.'
Ashlynn says 'A good example in ideas of the equality of men, too.'
Ashlynn says 'You saw how she acted? And she was not anyone of noble birth or important standing.'
Isela nods in agreement.
Ashlynn says 'Now imagine if she were a spoiled daughter of some Murandian noble.'
Isela chuckles softly.
Ashlynn says 'She may have it in her head that she is the center of the world. She might expect to bring her trunk of fine clothes and jewelry, and several manservants.'
Isela says 'It seems more important than ever to impress upon the initiate what they can expect here, then.'
Ashlynn says 'What do you think are some strategies you might use to convince such a girl of leaving those things and people behind, to join the Tower?'
Isela taps a finger to her lips.
Isela says 'The one that springs to mind, as with Evse, is to relay in detail just how dire their situation is without us.'
Isela says 'For those who already have some control over their abilities, I suppose it would do well to paint a picture of who they can become with proper training.'
Isela says 'As a Red Apprentice, I am reminded continually of the threat we face, so I tend to use the stick instead of the carrot, though.'
Isela frowns.
Ashlynn nods, her green eyes sparkling.
Ashlynn says 'You must learn how to use both.'
Ashlynn says 'Let's do a little roleplay.'
Isela nods and offers 'I could interview you as one who has already learned to embrace Saidar and control her weaving to an extent.'
Ashlynn says 'I will play the part of Tigroane Pemineos, a young girl from Illian who was summoned to the White Tower to become a novice. Her father is an influential member of the Council of Nine.'
Isela nods in agreement.
Ashlynn says 'Yes, that is fine. Let's say that the advisor to King Mattin recognized the potential of the girl during a session of their council, and asked her to visit the White Tower to learn more.'
Isela stands up.
Isela says 'I'm ready.'
Ashlynn puts her things down, stands up out of the chair, and walks to the door. Her back facing Isela, she suddenly turns around and walks defiantly towards Isela.
Isela gestures to a chair. 'Please sit, child.'
Ashlynn picks up a paper off the desk, pretending she took it from her purse, crumples it up, and throws it down in front of Isela.
Ashlynn says 'What is this summons about?!'
Isela smirks.
Isela says 'Take a seat, Tigroane, and you shall learn.'
Ashlynn looks about the room, unsure about her surroundings.
Isela stares at Tigroane, her eyes an enigmatic pool.
Ashlynn says 'I suppose that would be fine. That is an exquisite chaise lounge. Please make this quick as I have other things to do. I need to head to the seamstress in Tar Valon proper to pick up my new silk dress.'
Ashlynn sits down on a chaise lounge.
Isela nods curtly.
Isela says 'You were summoned here by order of your King Mattin Stepaneos, so we shall take the requisite time in explaining to you what is happening.'
Isela says 'We have been made aware that you are able to touch the True Source, child. To wield the One Power itself.'
Isela says 'Are you aware of your abilities?'
Ashlynn says 'My abilities? You mean the colored light balls I juggle to entertain my father's guests? That's just a parlor trick to distract them while he's editing important documents.'
Ashlynn says 'It's quite effective, actually.'
Isela senses Ashlynn connecting to the True Source.
Isela studies Ashlynn intently.
Ashlynn weaves a few threads of various elements, making several balls of red and blue. She begins making them move about in various directions, trying to draw Isela's eyes away from herself and towards the balls.
Isela glances toward the balls despite her best efforts to look away.
Isela murmurs 'That is a fancy parlor trick, indeed.'
Isela says 'You should be quite proud of what you've accomplished thus far, Tigroane.'
Isela says 'Most other girls would be dead by now.'
Isela fixes Ashlynn with a stare.
Ashlynn suddenly drops the balls and they dissipate when she hears the mention of "being dead by now".
Ashlynn says 'What's that supposed to mean? They're just balls of light. Surely, no one could be hurt by balls of light.'
Isela says 'I'm sure you know, since you are so good with those colored balls, that with just a slight adjustment, they could burn down your father's entire study?'
Isela feels the flows of saidar coursing through her body.
Isela replicates the colored balls, juggling them easily. Suddenly they burn with bright flame.
The blast of hot air makes you gasp!
Ashlynn strokes her chin thoughtfully.
Ashlynn says 'Perhaps you could use some more practice, I have never done that before.'
Isela lets the balls die out and gives a wry chuckle.
Isela says 'I'm sure your tutors have taught you about the One Power, yes?'
Ashlynn says 'My tutors are the best in the land. They teach me all sorts of things, from how to play the harp, to the history of the world. Of course they taught me about the One Power. How do you think I learned how to do that trick?'
Isela adopts a much different tone. 'Good. I'm about to let you in on a secret they haven't yet taught you. It's the reason you were summoned here.'
Ashlynn leans in, listening intently to Isela for the first time.
Isela says 'What you just showed me you can do is better than any other White Tower initiate I've inducted here in a long time.'
Isela says 'I think you could perhaps be one of the most powerful Aes Sedai we've seen in a thousand years.'
Ashlynn begins to blush slightly, doing her best to obscure it and not let on that she was caught off guard by Isela.
Isela tsks as she says '...one day.'
Isela leans closer to Tigroane and lowers her voice.
Isela says 'You've only just scratched the surface of your potential, Tigroane.'
Isela says 'Imagine being the one to rediscover the ancient art of Traveling. Visiting your father's estate in Illian and then having dinner here in Tar Valon.'
Isela says 'If you work hard, and remain disciplined, you'll unlock abilities no one here has even dreamed of.'
Ashlynn strokes her chin thoughtfully.
Isela straightens, backing away. She adds, almost nonchalantly, 'Interested in learning more?'
Ashlynn says 'That is a tempting possibility. I could wrap a King around my finger and tell him what to do! Riches beyond my wildest dreams!'
Ashlynn throws back her head and cackles with insane glee!
Ashlynn thinks hard.
Ashlynn says 'Just how much hard work?'
Ashlynn says 'What kind of hard work?'
Ashlynn stretches her arms, daintily dangling her fingers, expertly manicured with long crimson red tips.
Isela allows a small smile. 'It won't be easy, but I can guarantee it'll beat having to suck up at all those banquets in front of your father's friends' children.'
Isela says 'The White Tower has stood for thousands of years, all with the simple purpose of turning girls into powerful women who bend the ears of Kings and Queens.'
Isela says 'That's certainly worth a little hard work.'
Isela says 'If you don't think you have what it takes though...'
Isela gestures towards the door.
Ashlynn says 'Well, I'll let you know that I won't be sucking up at banquets all my life. I am currently betrothed to a handsome man, the son of one of the top ten most influential nobles of the year 1575.'
Ashlynn says 'I repeat again, exactly what kind of hard work are you talking about?'
Isela taps a finger to her lips.
Isela says 'The hardest work for you will be different than everyone else. You're used to court, and the White Tower is no different than that. You'll navigate the politics here with ease.'
Ashlynn chuckles politely.
Isela says 'I have no doubt that the training in the One Power itself will also come easily for you.'
Isela says 'The hard work I'm speaking of will be learning that in order to lead, you must serve. Tell me, did your tutors tell you what the term Aes Sedai means?'
Ashlynn says 'Of course. It's the Old Tongue. Servant of All.'
Isela nods in agreement.
Isela says 'Why do you suppose we chose that name for ourselves?'
Ashlynn says 'In the histories of the Age of Legends, it was because the men and women dedicated themselves to bettering the world.'
Isela nods. 'And we women still do.'
Ashlynn says 'I suppose that it is the same reason today, without the men, who were all driven mad.'
Ashlynn says 'Though I don't see any jo-cars on the streets or any utopia without war, so you can't be doing that great of a job.'
Ashlynn smirks.
Isela says with a smile 'Like I said, the classes and training will be easy for you here.'
Isela leans closer.
Isela says 'But do you know what's better than marrying one of the top ten most influential nobles in Illian?'
Ashlynn says 'Let me correct you - that list was published based on the entire world, not just Illian.'
Isela smirks.
Ashlynn smirks again, a gleam in her eyes.
Isela says 'So, is it only power you seek, then?'
Ashlynn says 'Not just that. A comfortable life, without any hardship.'
Isela says 'If you're looking to be the prize of another, and never make an impact yourself, I encourage you to go do that. The ripples Aes Sedai make reach the ends of the world, and we strive to make them for the better.'
Isela says 'If you're not interested in that, you can be on your way back to Illian.'
Ashlynn shifts in her seat, barely noticeable that she is shaken by what Isela told her.
Isela says 'This place will chew you up and spit you out if all you want is comfort.'
Ashlynn regains her composure, before speaking.
Ashlynn says 'And what if I do decide to stay here? What happens then?'
Ashlynn says 'I will need to send for my men to bring me my things. We will need to find a suitable accommodation for a lady of my standing.'
Ashlynn says 'I would like for my tutors to accompany me as well so I may continue my current lessons as well.'
Ashlynn says 'We will need to figure out where they can stay.'
Ashlynn says 'I'll have to be able to head back to Illian to visit my family at least four times a year as well.'
Isela holds a hand up, forestalling Ashlynn.
Isela says 'I won't mince words with you, Tigroane. Should you decide to stay, you will leave your previous life behind in every way. We'll put you in white, and we'll teach you how to serve, so you may learn how to lead.'
Isela says 'It means no men, no tutors, no family visits until you are at least one of the Accepted.'
Ashlynn says 'Leave my life behind? Are you crazy?'
Isela says 'Do you know why women do it?'
Isela says 'Do you know why the highest nobles all scream for the chance to put on a white dress?'
Ashlynn says 'Do you?'
Isela smirks.
Isela says 'They want to prove to themselves, and to their family, that they can.'
Isela says 'When was the last time you were truly challenged?'
Ashlynn shrugs helplessly.
Isela sighs, then straightens again.
Ashlynn says 'Probably the time I had to entertain some disgusting fat bureaucrat that my father was working on some legislation with. Can you believe that stinky son of a goat tried to make a move on me?'
Ashlynn laughs madly.
Isela doesn't smirk this time.
Ashlynn says 'I poked him in the eyes and sent him running. Good thing he was not anyone important.'
Isela says 'Don't you want more than a life of parties and entertaining your father's friends?'
Isela says 'Haven't you looked around your city before and wondered what life was truly like outside
your manor's walls?'
Ashlynn shakes her head.
Ashlynn says 'Well, if I marry my handsome beau, I will have a life of parties, entertaining my own
friends.'
Isela says 'You will.'
Isela says 'And you will be a Servant of One.'
Ashlynn says 'As long as the rabble are not completely starved and have some entertainment, all is fine with me.'
Isela emote: Isela taps a finger to her lips. 'So, comfort, power, entertainment. Anything I'm missing?'
Ashlynn looks at Isela.
Ashlynn says 'Pretty jewelry.'
Ashlynn says 'I will need pretty jewelry.'
Ashlynn says 'You know, I was in a shop in the city, and saw this beautiful gold ring with a bright blue sapphire. I think I might go buy it.'
Isela says 'You'll find none of that here. It appears I was wrong about you. Go juggle your silly light balls and never discover what you truly could be.'
Ashlynn snickers softly.
Ashlynn says 'Now the negotiation begins.'
Ashlynn says 'I am interested in learning more, but I have some concerns.'
Ashlynn says 'What are my duties going to be? Am I just spending my time studying and practicing the One Power?'
Isela says 'You'll be doing that, and anything else an Aes Sedai asks you to do.'
Ashlynn says 'What are some examples of things an Aes Sedai might ask me to do?'
Isela says 'As I said before, the hard part is going to be learning to be a servant leader. You've had servants your entire life, but have you ever given them a second thought?'
Ashlynn gets a mischievous glint in her eyes as she realizes the next question she is going to ask Isela.
Ashlynn says 'Now my tutors have taught me that Aes Sedai are bound by an object to Three Oaths. One of which is to speak no word that is true. What is the worst thing you have ordered a young girl in the Tower to do?'
Isela says 'Here, you might find yourself attending an Aes Sedai, waiting on her, fetching messages, washing dishes.'
Ashlynn cackles maniacally.
Isela says 'The worst thing I've ordered a girl to do would seem unimaginable to someone like you, Tigroane.'
Ashlynn says 'Try me. I have seen public executions of criminals.'
Ashlynn says 'I have seen men keel over at the dinner table, poisoned by their rivals.'
Isela murmurs 'Death is lighter than a feather.'
Ashlynn thinks back to some of the other duties.
Isela says 'You seem to be missing the point, child. What each girl experiences in the White Tower is drastically different.'
Ashlynn says 'Waiting on someone else, washing dishes, yuck.'
Ashlynn extends her perfectly manicured hands, making sure you see them in all their glory.
Ashlynn says 'Why would I wash dishes, when someone else could do it? If I have such potential, I should spend my time practicing and studying. Not washing dishes.'
Isela says 'If you happen to make it through as a Novice, you'll eventually experience the worst of it yourself in the test for Acceptance.'
Isela says 'Your time as a Novice isn't just about learning the One Power.'
Isela says 'You think yourself worldly because of your upbringing.'
Isela says 'But you said it yourself earlier - you care not about the "rabble". You are ignorant of them. There are so many in this world you've shut yourself off to.'
Isela says 'Learning to serve will broaden your horizons so you may truly become someone who could serve the masses. Who could lead them. Who could give wise counsel to the highest rulers in the land and have them listen.'
Ashlynn ponders life, the universe, and everything.
Ashlynn says 'Well, even my tutelage requires hard work. The reward in this case appears to be much greater than anything I could receive otherwise.'
Ashlynn says 'Can I at least wear gloves while washing the dishes?'
Ashlynn says 'Or maybe convince someone else to do it for me?'
Ashlynn chuckles lightly.
Isela smirks.
Isela says 'Yes, we're not so savage as to not provide gloves for washing dishes.'
Isela allows a small smile.
Ashlynn says 'What else is required of me? On my way up here, I noticed everyone wearing the same dress. Is there a dress code?'
Isela says 'But it will be an adjustment for you. My advice is to work hard and set your sights on becoming Accepted as soon as possible. You certainly have the potential.'
Isela says 'Novices wear a white dress. Accepted wear a similar one, but with bands of color around the hem.'
Isela says 'For a time, you'll look like everyone else. But let me give you another secret:'
Ashlynn says 'Well, I guess that bespoke dress at the local seamstress is a waste of money. It was a beautiful shimmering yellow, like the bees of Illian!'
Isela says 'There are girls from all walks of life here. Sometimes it's nice to blend in, as the "rabble" may not take kindly to you until you prove yourself here!'
Ashlynn strokes her chin thoughtfully.
Ashlynn says 'Incognito, I like it.'
Ashlynn says 'I would be remiss if I were not to do so. That girl I knocked over into the mud last year might be a novice here.'
Ashlynn chuckles politely.
Isela nods. 'Do you understand everything I've told you, Tigroane?'
Ashlynn says 'But if I were to decide otherwise, would it be an issue if I wanted to say, wear a plain white dress of silk instead of a rough woolen one?'
Isela says 'There's a saying my father used to use on me all the time. Perhaps your father is similar. He said "Never do it halfway."'
Isela says 'If you're in, you're in all the way. No silk dresses.'
Isela says 'Feel the rough wool on your skin and use it as a motivator to advance swiftly in the Tower.'
Ashlynn sniffs sadly.
Ashlynn says 'I understand. What is the next step?'
Isela says 'We'll visit Sheriam Sedai. She will write your name in the Book of Novices, and then we'll start your orientation. Are you ready?'
Ashlynn shifts uneasily, unsure about what to do next.
Ashlynn says 'The potential for greatness is too much to say no to you.'
Ashlynn says 'Yes, I am ready.'
Isela nods in agreement.
Isela lets out a long breath.
Ashlynn grins widely at Isela.
Ashlynn says 'A job well done!'
Isela says 'Thanks for not making it easy, Ashlynn Sedai.'
Ashlynn says 'I think you understand the idea well.'
Ashlynn says 'Not all of them will be that difficult...'
Ashlynn says '...and whether you wish to believe me or not, some might be MORE difficult than THAT one.'
Ashlynn clambers to her feet.
Isela says 'Well I was ready to let Tigroane walk out that door at least twice, so...'
Isela snickers softly.
Ashlynn walks over to the desk, picking up a paper. She reads through it before speaking.
Ashlynn says 'As I said originally, we were discussing your performance with the induction of Evse. Overall, I would rate you a 4/5. One thing in particular stood out to me.'
Ashlynn says 'Is there any reason you decided not to lead the girl in an exercise to help her touch the source?'
Isela strokes her chin thoughtfully.
Isela says 'I have no compelling reason for skipping that, Ashlynn Sedai, beyond already knowing that she could touch the Source.'
Ashlynn ponders life, the universe, and everything.
Ashlynn says 'Did you really know that she could touch the source, though? I do not believe she did it in front of us?'
Isela says 'She did not, but I saw her do it in the city before we came to you.'
Ashlynn nods, her green eyes sparkling.
Ashlynn says 'I figured as much, but wanted to ask to be certain.'
Isela says 'Is this something you generally play through during the interview, regardless of previous knowledge?'
Ashlynn says 'Typically, we guide the potential initiate in the exercise. It is helpful to teach them how to embrace the source at will.'
Isela nods in agreement.
Isela says 'I shall remember that.'
Ashlynn says 'However, if they appear to have some knowledge of weaving, that is, they are a wilder, I will be happy with watching them embrace the source and weave something in front of me.'
Ashlynn says 'Typically, they will show me a light ball, or perhaps create fruit or water.'
Isela nods in agreement.
Ashlynn says 'I do not believe it is a rule per se, just a best practice. As you may know, not all girls have the spark, and some may be taught how to embrace the source.'
Isela says 'That makes sense, Aes Sedai.'
Ashlynn says 'They might not have the same potential as a girl with the spark, but even if you have no proof, they can still make the attempt. If they are found to be unable or terribly weak in the power, they will just be put out of the Tower.'
Ashlynn says 'With that said, do you have any other questions or insights about the roleplay we just did, or the meeting we had with Evse, or anything else in general related to the subject?'
Isela gives a small shake of her head. 'This was most helpful, Ashlynn Sedai. Thank you.'
Ashlynn says 'You may go, but I will ask you to do one more thing for me.'
Ashlynn says 'This is unrelated. I wish to obtain some samples of inert objects for a lesson I wish to teach Lorrah.'
Isela taps a finger to her lips.
Ashlynn says 'Would you fetch me some items that a novice might safely probe with delving? '
Ashlynn says 'I've used rocks, sandstones, oilstones. Driftwood. Things like that.'
Isela nods in agreement.
Isela says 'I'll retrieve some for you.'
Ashlynn gestures with her hand.
The door smoothly swings open.
Ashlynn says 'Just a few things, and make them varied.'
Isela curtseys before Ashlynn.
