<Redacted> in The Blue Ajah Wing with the Candlestick

[Aleera]

Summary: Elmitsu finds a body in the Wing of the Blue Ajah and is horribly upset (or is she?)! More girls than Aelrena Sedai would have wished get pulled in and learn of this. After Aelrena Sedai departs, no mischief is discussed. Also, there was certainly no drinking of alcohol in, or outside of, Aelrena Sedai's presence.

In the Apartment
A warm fire crackles noisily in a cast iron hearth, the blaze kept well stoked by the White Tower's diligent maids. Plain, well-made furniture sits on expensive Tairen carpets. A delicately lacquered box lies forgotten on a desk of golden oak. A carefully made bed with a blue coverlet lies beneath a canopy of vermillion velvet. A shawl with blue fringes hangs on a peg.
A dismembered corpse is lying here.
Aelrena Solyan is standing here.
Elmitsu the Journey Accepted is standing here.

Aelrena frowns.

Elmitsu is on the other side of the room, crouched near the body. Her breath seems to come in jagged draws.

Aleera 's eyes widen.

Aelrena says 'Aleera, let us take a short break from this discussion.'

Elmitsu stands abruptly at the arrival of the two other women. Her cheeks are whiter than the ribbon in her hair.

Aelrena says 'Take Elmitsu to the Well.'

Elmitsu says 'I . . . Evaine Sedai is coming, Aelrena Sedai!'

Aleera nods, quickly saying, "Yes, of course."

Aleera feels the flows of saidar coursing through her body.

Aelrena says 'I see. Then we shall wait here for her arrival. Be prepared.'

Elmitsu's hands are held stiffly at her sides, though they seem to twitch with want of a duty.

Aleera senses Aelrena connecting to the True Source.

Aleera weave flows of Spirit around yourself, and you feel protected.

Aleera senses Elmitsu connecting to the True Source.

Aleera senses Aelrena is channeling saidar.

Aelrena gestures briefly at Aelrena, who now appears more impressive somehow.

Aleera gently says, "Accepted Elmitsu, will you come with me?"

Aelrena weaves a flurry of air, a few strands of water mixing in with a complicated twist as a dome of air covers the body.

Elmitsu falls in behind Aleera without much protest, almost moving as though she does not direct herself.

Aleera leads the way swiftly through the halls and down a level to The Well.


In the Well
This open-roofed building used to house the initiates of the Tower consists of nine levels, but only three of them are currently in use. A number of small, windowless rooms open up to a gallery which surrounds a courtyard, there is ample fresh air. A fountain with a small garden sits at the bottom of this well, the sound of falling waters echoing among the towering walls.
Kennira, Caretaker of Novices tends to the boarding of her young charges.
Elmitsu has arrived from the east.


Elmitsu seems to relax a little the further the pair progress from the corpse.

Aleera looks over Elmitsu quickly, for any signs of obvious injury. She asks, concern readily present in her tone, "Are you okay?"

Elmitsu sighs loudly and for a long time.

Elmitsu says 'That was scary.'

Aleera steps closer, alongside Elmitsu and puts an arm around her shoulders. "Would you like to sit with me?" she inquires.

Trajega has arrived from the west.

Elmitsu allows Aleera to guide her wherever the other Accepted is going to.

Trajega explodes with whistles and cheers.

Elmitsu says 'Mother's milk in a cup, Trajega! A corpse! In the Blue wing!'

Aleera gives a quick shake of her head to Trajega. Her expression is ashen and concerned. She leads Elmitsu to a couch and sits down beside her.

Trajega sits down.

Trajega gets confused. She says, "So it likely wasn't an Aes Sedai's doing then?"

Elmitsu allows Aleera to place her on the couch as if she were a porcelain doll, and she almost looks it -- cheeks washed out from whatever memory remains of their recent excursion to the Blue wing.

Elmitsu says, almost numbly 'Not a good one.'

Aleera mouths towards Trajega, "Dismembered."

Elmitsu lowers her voice to a stage whisper that still manages to carry about the Well 'They say . . . some Aes Sedai . . . might be . . .'

Elmitsu looks around as if checking for unwanted company before finishing her thought 'Darkfriends!'

Elmitsu bursts into a nervous giggle at her own daring.

The chamberdoor is opened from the other side.

Aelrena has arrived from the east.

The chamberdoor closes quietly.

Trajega says 'not joking. I think Vianca has done it a few times, mainly trollocs, but they are very capable.'

Aelrena glances between the gathered initiates.

Elmitsu stands as if to curtsey but can't quite make her feet.

Aelrena says 'Are any of you hurt?'

Aleera swallows heavily at that. Her eyes also dart around. She hugs Elmitsu to her side at what Elmitsu last said.

Trajega clambers to her feet.

Trajega curtseys gracefully.

Elmitsu collapses again next to Aleera.

Trajega shakes her head.

Aleera is seated on a couch beside Elmitsu. "Not physically," she offers to Aelrena Sedai.

Elmitsu's chin wobbles 'Do you k-k-k-know who it is, Aelrena Sedai?'

Elmitsu takes a moment to gather her composure and still her lower lip.

Elmitsu points to Trajega 'I think Trajega is scared.'

Aelrena pulls a stone carafe out of her bag, along with three cups before settling down to the floor and pouring a steaming, brown liquid into them.

Aelrena sits down.

Trajega shakes her head, and says, "A few drinks of these and that goes away", and sips from a goblet of wine.

Elmitsu smiles slyly as she produces a goblet filled with strong oosquai from somewhere on her person.

Trajega hiccups.

Elmitsu drinks mulled wine from a goblet filled with strong oosquai.

Aelrena says 'Here, take some chocolate children. As for the wine... I'll pretend that I did not see an initiate drinking alcohol on this day alone.'

Aelrena frowns.

Aleera reassures and validates Elmitsu, "I'm a bit frightened."

Trajega melts into the floor.

Elmitsu says, gulping like a fish first, "I . . . I was taking it to the barrel. To fill, Aes Sedai. But then . . .'

Elmitsu wails.

Elmitsu bellows 'I FOUND THE BODY!'

Aelrena says 'Girl.'

Elmitsu looks around to see which girl Aelrena addresses.

Aleera bends over and picks up two of the cups. One for herself and one for Elmitsu. She continues to hold Elmitsu's for her, for the moment.

Aelrena says 'What is the first exercise taught to initiates upon entering the Tower?'

Aelrena looks at Elmitsu.

Maddy says 'Good Morning Ladies'

Maddy departs briefly and returns.

Elmitsu says, not petulantly, though her cheeks color red, "Fo-fo-fo-forgive me, Aes Sedai. I have . . . not seen a dead body in a long time."

Aelrena arches an eyebrow.

Aelrena says 'Elmitsu, what is the first exercise taught to initiates? Walk me through it.'

Aelrena looks at Maddy.

Maddy curtseys before Aelrena.

Aelrena's lips twitch up slightly at the corners.

Aelrena nods to the novice, "I'm glad to see your knees do indeed work, Child."

Elmitsu says, a touch begrudgingly, "I am a flower. A tight little blackthorn bud! I am turned to the sun."

Elmitsu looks at Maddy.

Trajega says 'Dont Touch Callesa Sedai's drink?'

Elmitsu whispers to you, 'I'd say her knees work just fine.'

Maddy says 'Did i miss something'

Maddy looks at all the concerned and worried faces

Aelrena says 'Nothing that you need concern yourself with, Child.'

Aelrena's lips twitch up slightly at the corners.

Aelrena says 'Though if you would like a cup of hot chocolate, it would seem there is an extra here for you.'

Aleera gives another little squeeze, and tight smile, to Elmitsu.

Aelrena gestures to a steaming cup set on the floor between the girls gathered.

Elmitsu blurts, "I FOUND A BODY IN THE BLUE WING!"

Aelrena sighs loudly.

Aelrena says 'Which has been taken care of, and the Amyrlin has been informed.'

Maddy looks at Elmitsu dropping he chin and widening her eyes.

Elmitsu sits up a little straighter at Aelrena's sigh.

Trajega Fills a flask with Hot Chocolate

Elmitsu says 'You are very safe here, Novice!'

Maddy says 'Oh my goodness'

Elmitsu sounds like she could use some convincing herself.

Maddy pats Elmitsu on the shoulder lighlty

Aleera asserts, "The Well is one of the safest places within the White Tower and we have a handful of channelers all present and quite mindful of their surroundings.

Maddy nods at Aleera.

Aelrena's lips twitch up slightly at the corners.

Aleera senses Maddy connecting to the True Source.

Aleera senses Maddy is channeling saidar.

Maddy gestures briefly at Maddy, who now appears more impressive somehow.

Elmitsu leans in a little to Aleera's side as if gaining strength from the other Accepted's proximity.

Elmitsu directs her question to the Aes Sedai, "Do you know who that was, Aes Sedai?"

Maddy says 'How horribly shocking for you Elmitsu'

Trajega peers closely at Aelrena, trying to figure her out.

Elmitsu agrees, taking another sip of her oosquai, "I WAS horribly shocked, but I have mostly recovered. Thank you."

Aelrena says 'It would be best if you turned your thoughts away from the body, child.'

Maddy says 'Aelrena Sedai are there any change of restrictions for us in light of this news'

Aelrena says 'As for the moment, there are not any changes. I do not sense any shadowspawn, nor do I believe there are any warranted within the city.'

Trajega whispers, "She's looking the other way if you sneak wine from the pantry", and slides a goblet over.

Aelrena's attention sharply focuses upon Maddy.

Aleera senses Trajega connecting to the True Source.

Maddy beams a smile at Aelrena.

Aleera senses Trajega is channeling saidar.

Trajega sits down.

Aelrena says 'I would not suggest accepting that cup.'

Aelrena's smiles thinly.

Maddy nods at Aelrena.

Maddy says 'Thank you but I am fine with my water'

Maddy beams a smile at Trajega.

Aleera 's free hand lifts, fingers rubbing at the bridge of her nose.

Aelrena says 'Now, I have searched the Tower, and spoken with the Amyrlin.'

Elmitsu frets at her banded hem.

Maddy says 'Do we know if the body is someone from the Tower'

Aelrena says 'You may rest assured that this is being taken care of you are safe. You are all welcome to stay in the Well, should you wish more time to yourselves.'

Aelrena says 'With that being said, I shall be going about my business. Elmitsu, you and I shall speak soon.'

Maddy says 'I was thinking to practice my locates '

Elmitsu smiles sweetly, "The Creator bless you, Aelrena Sedai."

Aelrena says 'Aleera, when you are finished here, and feel that Elmitsu may be left alone, you are welcome to join me in the study to finish our discussion.'

Trajega frowns.

Elmitsu has arrived from the west.

Aelrena says 'Trajega, Maddy, you are both free to attend your lessons.'

Aelrena's lips twitch up slightly at the corners.

Trajega clambers to her feet.

Aelrena says 'I'll be making my exit now.'

Trajega curtseys before Aelrena.

Aleera whispers to Elmitsu 'You're very brave.'

Maddy curtseys before Aelrena.

The chamber door swings open.

The chamber door closes quietly.

Aelrena clambers to her feet.

Elmitsu snakes an arm around Aleera's shoulders.

Maddy leaves west.

Aelrena leaves east.

Elmitsu rolls her eyes emphatically, "UGH! I thought she'd -never- leave."

Trajega gasps in astonishment.

Elmitsu confides, a touch conspiratorially, "Don't get me wrong--she's one of the better ones."

Elmitsu holds out her hand and wiggles it back and forth as if to indicate something, "But they're all a little . . ."

Elmitsu rounds on Aleera, "You won't tell her I said that, will you?"

Trajega says 'It's hard to hold much of a grudge when they get you from the stocks.'

Trajega shakes her head.

Elmitsu's cheeks have kindled with a ferocity that was heretofore unseen in the Aes Sedai's company.

Aleera asks, tones soft, matching Elmitsu's conspiratorial tone, "Did you see anything happen?" She then says, "Tell who what?"

Elmitsu's smile is sincere as it stretches her cheeks, those having regained some of their color since the prior incident.

Trajega shrugs helplessly.

Trajega says 'sometimes its hard to know you remember things clearly.'

Trajega takes a big drink of the spiced wine.

Elmitsu says 'Aes Sedai are always trying to catch you in a trap and then act like it's a lesson.'

Elmitsu continues, "If I'm not supposed to drink the wine, just say so! Don't ask me where you got it. You KNOW where the wine comes from!"

Trajega sighs loudly.

Elmitsu drinks mulled wine from a goblet filled with strong oosquai.

Trajega says 'My interview to join the accepted went about that direction.'

Elmitsu says 'You have to be -really- good before that interview and demonstrate -growth.-'

Elmitsu says 'Or we could get a bucket and catch some frogs.'

Elmitsu smiles slyly.

Aleera murmurs, "Laras stockpiles alcohol."

Trajega says 'that sounds like the novice in the library. I think she heard you aren't suppose to chase boys when you are year, and she heard "you are suppose to chase the girls". She wont leave me alone'

Elmitsu says 'Sometimes it's fun being chased.'

Elmitsu waggles her eyebrows suggestively.

Elmitsu confides again, "Aelrena Sedai is the one who helped me find the right herbs when I got . . . chased a little too . . . closely."

Aleera suddenly feels less protected.

Trajega shrugs, "Say what you will, its hard to read with someone yappin."

Aleera senses Trajega is channeling saidar.

Trajega weaves her hands, creating a flow of water that fills a leather water flask.

Elmitsu says 'Do you want to fill the Red study with chickens?'

Trajega drinks water from a leather water flask.

Elmitsu looks around as if this is a perfectly reasonable leisure activity to suggest.

Trajega says 'like get a bunch of chicken pets and let them loose?'

Aleera winces a bit at what Elmitsu shares. "I'm glad she was able to help." She then swallows, "As she sort of noted, I was in the middle of a ... lesson with her and so should probably get back to that. I didn't hear anything about chickens or anything else." She smiles.

Trajega grins evilly.

Trajega waves goodbye to Aleera.

Elmitsu hugs Aleera sideways once more.

Elmitsu whispers to you, 'Thanks.'

Elmitsu adds, as an after thought, to Aleera, "And good luck."

Trajega clambers to her feet.

Maddy has arrived from the west.

Trajega now follows Elmitsu.

Maddy smiles happily.

Aleera tells Elmitsu, "Thank you. And ... good luck."

OOCly, this log was brilliant. I liked so much about it. I loved how it started with an observation of an in-game experience, which Elmitsu in particular used as an opportunity to initiate an immersive, compelling, and hilarious read. I enjoyed how each character's personality shone through in different ways and contributed to a dynamic interaction. Very well done to everyone involved.
