The waters of the Erinin bite harshly into the shore, merciless teeth
chewing a sandy bay from the island's body. The ebb and flow of the river
spits all manner of flotsam up onto the beach, the fragments of forgotten
lives strewn carelessly to and fro. To the east, a grassy plain stretches
along the far side of the river. To the south, the river winds towards the
patchwork fields of Andor to join with the Alguenya at Aringill.

Fewer outside ears, and safer as well." She does immediately respond,
however, "Yes it is a shared belief and responsibility."
Underneath the Central Dome
The two hallways meet at a cavernous rotunda which is crowned by an
enormous dome of pale white stone. Stone ribs reach out from the top of
wall at the four corners of the intersection, meeting to form a circle
which serves as the foundation of the dome. To the east and west lie long
straight halls with many doors. A large room with open doors lies to the
north, while a hallway leads south, towards two massive double doors.

A Large Reading Room
The large, ovular reading room of the library extends to the south, dotted
with scroll-covered and book-covered desks. The desks are a dark wood,
which matches the furnishings of the walls and shelves. Rows of pictures
hang in dusty frames along the walls. The entirity of the northern wall is
a large, heavily-leaded arched window that overlooks the Tower grounds, one
of the few windows in the building, as light degrades the quality of ink.

You curtsey to your audience.
Aleera heads over towards the window, one of the few within the White Tower
and sits down nearby to it.
Aleera quickly bobs a curtsey to the Brown Sister as well.
A Brown Sister leaves south.
You say 'shall I stand Aleera Accepted?'
Aleera says 'No, no please, be comfortable.'
You emote: Tissaya sits down near Aleera after receiving permission.
Aleera says 'You mentioned something interesting, that all of the Ajahs
share in the training of the Novices. Why do you think that might be?'
You say 'Well I guess my first thought is that we are all connected through
the Source.'
You say 'and though I guess we do not fully understand it we feel a bond
through that connection?'
You say 'and if you ever feel close to someone then it is only natural you
would want to teach them and keep them safe by doing so?'
Aleera nods and paraphrases, "A good answer. We all share a common bond and
then might naturally wish to help one another."
A Brown Sister has arrived from the south.
You say 'I guess as well that it is also a requirement to progress into
full sisterhood? And so Sisters do that because they all learned to teach
along the way?'
Aleera nods, agreeable to that addition, "Yes. I certainly benefited from
others' teachings and I know I am certainly expected to help in turn. I
want to help as well, but it is also a responsibility." She then prompts,
"If you would, imagine with me for a moment: One Ajah, it doesn't matter
which, suddenly gave significant focus to you and your training. How might
that be perceived by others?"

You say 'it could be seen as favoritism and so it could breed jealousy?'
You say 'Although myself I would not be hurt by such a thing. As it is
only natural for some people to gravitate more towards others.'
You say 'And if I saw someone who I felt I would be better fit to teach
then would welcome the opportunity to help them more often as I would be
more gratified by doing so.'
Aleera nods, "I concur, that could happen with jealousy and also that we
all might naturally fit better with some versus others."
An Accepted has arrived from the south.
You say 'I guess to me the over arching theme seems to be that the greater
good outweighs the needs of the individual.'
You say 'So that even if I might enjoy teaching a student, that if it was
felt that I was causing more overall harm, that I should listen to the
Sisters and no longer teach that person.'
Aleera nods and says, "We are all servants. I believe the White Tower also
wants each of us to be able to choose freely when it comes time to choose
an apprenticeship and later, an Ajah. We each need to discern our talents
and how we might best serve, with our whole hearts."
You nod in agreement.
You say 'I know it is too soon for me to be thinking of such things, but
that is a hard question to try to decide who you will be before you get to
that point.'
A Brown Sister leaves south.
You say 'so when I think of the Ajahs I almost feel like I am putting the
cart in front of the horse so to speak.'
You say 'Because I do not even know my way in this world yet so how can I
choose which path I should take without walking it first?'
Aleera nods. "I apologize for that. I certainly did not mean to prompt you
to start considering such. I do think it is a long process, and one that
requires thought and searching of the heart. A little here. A little there.
It will become more clear with time, or so I hope." She offers a faint
smile.
Aleera agrees, "You should learn everything you can from each of the Ajahs
to help with that, to gain those sorts of experiences that might help you
to learn your own way forward."
You say 'I sometimes find myself tangential in thought so it may very well
be that I took an odd path without the intended prompt
'You say 'do you know which direction you are leaning already?'

Aleera says, "I think so, but there are three that all relate to what I
would like to devote myself to. I plan to ask a mentor to listen to my
thoughts as I share them, hoping that the articulation may help me gain
greater insight." After a moment, she adds, "I also fully expect to be
asked any number of questions, which I think would help with that
discernment."
You nod in agreement.
Aleera says 'When say wrong, what does that mean to you?'
Aleera says 'When you say wrong, what does that mean to you?'
You say 'I guess for me it would be that I see another Ajah and think that
maybe that one fit me best. Or that I don't see myself as happy in one as
I do in another, but I had already been locked in to the former.'
You say 'so I guess the "right" Ajah for me would be the Ajah that made me
feel the most fulfilled as a person.'
A Brown Sister has arrived from the south.
You say 'And I guess that fulfillment usually comes from figuring a way to
use your abilities the best with improving the world the most?'
Aleera nods, saying, "Thank you. I did not want to assume. On the one hand,
I suppose that the answer is yes. I believe, however, one could find within
themself, with time and consideration, that the choice was appropriate
after all. However, we all want to avoid that in the first place, the
apprenticeship process is, I believe, intended to help with that. It is a
time for the Accepted and for the Ajah to assess one another, to test for
fit."
Aleera nods to the last thing Tissaya said, "With that, I agree
wholeheartedly."
You smile happily.
You say 'A lot to think on for sure. I thought I was getting a lesson in
weaving and I ended up with an existential lesson in the end.'
Aleera's hands are folded in her lap, She confides, "I've considered a
couple of questions, the first one I've been asked, the second has only
been asked by myself. How do I want to serve the world? And, how does the
world need me to serve it?"
Aleera smiles for Tissaya, "Both types of lessons are useful and help us to
grow here."
You say 'Is there a particular skill set you are most proud of?'
Aleera considers for a moment, then answers, "I try to be thoughtful and
kind. Some might suggest that is personality, but I think both need be
learned, nurtured, cultivated."
You say 'What is the greatest kindness you can give to others?'
The room becomes brighter as you create a sphere of light above your hand.
Aleera answers, "Listening to them and truly hearing what they are saying.
Just being there and focusing on them, no distractions, not bringing
oneself and one's own issues into the fray."
You say 'That makes me think of the Yellows. Able to lend a hand and have
personal moments with those most in need?'
Aleera nods to that, "Their focus is to others and their assistance, I see
that, yes."
You say 'I mean with a little further slant the greens or reds help others,
but to me that would not be in the way you were describing? More of an
indirect help.'
You say 'And the grays could help massively in a political sense? But that
would also not be personal or close contact help I wouldnt think?'
Aleera smiles and mouths an "ah" at that. She nods approvingly, "Discussing
things as you are, nuanced, with the Aes Sedai, will serve you well as they
prompt you about your own thoughts on the tower, what it means to be a
Novice, a wearied Novice, an Accepted, and so on. A Yellow may be as fierce
as a Green in battle and so on. There are overlaps and there are foci."
You say 'I think that makes it even more confusing to me. I guess the good
in that is that you can venture away from being pigeon holed to one area
then
'You say 'From just our discussions today I feel as though I would be torn
between blue and yellow. And green sounds exciting although not to my
strengths per se.'
You say 'Focusing on one task not only plays to my strength, but I believe
it is so open ended as to make me not wonder about making a mistake in my
choice.'
Aleera suggests, "Explore each; speaking either to those in those Ajahs, or
even others. I suspect that any would be willing to talk things through
with you, to help understanding increase."
You say 'I will seek them out for sure. I only hope that I am not too
brash or offensive in the ways I ask things. Because I want to be
respectful but there are tough questions to ask sometimes.'

Aleera rises up from her seat and curtseys to Tolza Sedai.
Tolza waves her hand dismissively.
You say 'Aleera was going over things with me. The latest about the
different Ajahs. We started with her teaching me some weaves out in the
fields east of the gate.'
Tolza nods in agreement.
Tolza says 'Very good.'
Tolza says 'Send me a log I will award the two of you.'
You say 'If you don't mind me asking. How did you end up choosing your
Ajah?'
Tolza says 'My apologies for intruding on your class Accepted.'
Tolza ponders life, the universe, and everything.
Tolza says 'A good topic for another time.'
You nod in agreement.

Aleera shakes her head and says, "Oh no, Tolza Sedai. Your presence would
always be welcome and not an intrusion."
Aleera shares with Tissaya, "Tolza Sedai is the Aes Sedai who tested me on
my arrival to the White Tower."
You say 'She seems very friendly. Very lucky of you indeed!'
You say 'I was also helped by a Brown as you already know
'You say 'And of course am very grateful for all the help you've given me!'
Aleera nods and adds, "And a good example for our discussion. Tolza Sedai
is of the Brown Ajah, but she is also talented in combat and I am fairly
certain has journeyed north to the Blight to aid efforts there. Even if we
might not always immediately think of that when we think of the Brown
Ajah."
You say 'I think that's how it can be so confusing. Because before I
entered the tower just yesterday. It was my impression that there was more
adherence to their area only. Which I am glad to have been wrong about.'
Aleera gives an understanding nod, "My comprehension was even more limited
than that."
You smile happily.
You say 'I dont believe that you seem like you've hit the ground running
'You say 'I've enjoyed your teaching me so much today. Would this be a good
point to reflect on things? All of that spell casting has worn me out.'
Aleera nods, "Yes, we've certainly covered a _lot_ of territory."
You say 'I almost forgot I have scalps for Sheriam as well. Wouldn't want
to sit on those too long!'
Aleera says 'Yes, please go and make sure she gets them. Just remember one
at a time.'
You nod in agreement.

Aleera says 'And no more than five total or she will get cross.'
Aleera says 'Good evening, Tissaya. Rest well.'
