A novice learns about triage, and what it means to become Accepted

Post by Ashlynn » Wed Jan 25, 2023 1:51 pm

In this log, an Aes Sedai comes across a Novice that she previously taught how to embrace saidar, and also inducted into the Book of Novices. The child has some good questions about Healing and what tools the Yellow Ajah uses to help the injured. The conversation turns into a lesson on the concept of triage. Later, the Aes Sedai learns that the novice wants to be considered for the Arches test. The girl learns more about what it means to be Accepted, as a result.

POV: Ashlynn Sedai
Participants: Ashlynn Sedai and Novice Sarenna, with cameos by Reil Gaidin and the traveler Hamaen

***Ashlynn encounteres Novice Sarenna, who has some questions about the Yellow Ajah and Healing. It turns into an impromptu lesson about the concept of triage.***

Sarenna has arrived from the north.

She's five-and-a-half feet tall, and
slightly plump, with reddish-brown hair
and brown eyes. Her skin is lightly
tanned, and there is a smattering of
freckles across her nose. Her full
lips are often curved in a smile.

Sarenna is in excellent condition.
Sarenna is healthy.

A worker has arrived from the west.

Sarenna curtseys before Ashlynn.
Ashlynn drinks the water.
Ashlynn doesn't feel thirsty any more.

Sarenna smiles happily.

Ashlynn nods at Sarenna.

Ashlynn says 'Good evening child.'

Tower Square
This side of the square is the southern section of the Tower Square.
In the center is the walled off White Tower. To the south a large
boulevard opens up leading to the Southharbor. To the north you see
the southern gate of the Tower grounds. The square continues east
and west.
A large banner rests here, depicting a map of Tar Valon.
[ obvious exits: N E S W ]
Zone: Tar Valon
Door north: TarlomensGate
A marble bench, flecked with gold and bronze, adorns the floor.
An oil lamp, set in a steel cage, hangs from a high wooden pole.
An elaborately sculpted marble fountain splashes merrily.
A stout wooden barrel stands nearby.
A worker busily earns a day's pay.
Sarenna the Wearied Novice is standing here.
A warhorse is here, stamping his feet impatiently, being ridden by you.
A gray palfrey prances skittishly nearby.
The Tar Valon town crier stands here, spreading the news.

The night has begun.

Sarenna says 'Ah, looks like we have plenty of food here. Good.'

Ashlynn nods in agreement.

The Tarlomen's Gate closes quietly.

Sarenna smiles. "Good evening, Aes Sedai."

Ashlynn says 'I felt like whipping up a ton of dinners today.'

Sarenna smiles happily.

A Tower Guard has arrived from the south.

Ashlynn says 'I went to Fal Dara and did the same, actually.'

Sarenna says 'I often do the same. I was our main cook on the farm, and I learned to enjoy it.'

Ashlynn nods in agreement.

Ashlynn says 'It is a hobby of mine. I like to bake, too.'

Sarenna smiles happily.

Ashlynn says 'Especially cakes.'

A worker leaves south.

The sky starts to get cloudy.

Sarenna says 'Every time I meet with Fyra Sedai, she requests cakes. I bet you two get along well.'

Sarenna chuckles politely.

A Tower Guard leaves west.

Ashlynn nods in agreement.

Ashlynn suddenly feels less protected.
The flows holding the light ball have dissipated.

Sarenna says 'There is something I've been wanting to ask of a Yellow Sister, if you don't mind? I
haven't seen Fyra Sedai to ask her recently.'

Ashlynn says 'How have you been doing with your studies?'

A beggar has arrived from the south.

Ashlynn smiles softly at Sarenna, and nods at her.

Ashlynn says 'Go ahead.'

Sarenna gets twelve copper pennys from a soft leather pouch.

Sarenna gives some coins to a beggar.

A beggar knuckles his forehead to Sarenna, honoring her.

A beggar says 'thankin you, thankin you kindly.'

Sarenna says 'As a healer, do you believe that it is important to understand how to heal and treat
injuries without the use of Saidar? It was my understanding that some do and some don't.'

A Tower Guard has arrived from the east.

Ashlynn says 'That is a tricky question.'

Ashlynn says 'I will try to answer in the most pragmatic way.'

Sarenna says 'Ah, and I am doing quite well with things, thank you! I already have the merits I need
to become Accepted, so it is just a matter of working hard until that time comes.'

Sarenna nods, listening closely.

A fishmonger has arrived from the south.

A worker has arrived from the south.

Ashlynn says 'I believe it is important to know alternative methods of healing the sick and the injured.'

A Tower Guard has arrived from the east.

Ashlynn says 'However, you may be surprised to see that most Yellow sisters will not employ those
methods.'

Ashlynn says 'We typically have a gift and talent for Healing, and we use it well.'

A beggar leaves west.

Ashlynn says 'For the sake of completeness to your answer, there is always the possibility that during
battle there may not be enough resources to provide Healing to all of the casualties.'

A worker leaves south.

Sarenna nods in agreement.

Ashlynn says 'Now this would lead into an informative lesson on the concept of triage. Are you familiar
with that term?'

A fishmonger leaves east.

A Tower Guard leaves south.

Ashlynn isn't in touch with saidar to release anything.

Sarenna taps her chin, thinking about it. "I did read something once. Is that... it's where you have
to decide who needs the most urgent healing, is it not?"

Ashlynn says 'In the end, yes.'

A bellman has arrived from the west.

Ashlynn says 'It's a process for sorting injured people into groups based on their need or benefit from
immediate treatment'

A Tower Guard leaves south.

Sarenna nods in agreement.

A Tower Guard has arrived from the south.

Sarenna says 'That makes it even clearer, so thank you for explaining that.'

A Tower Guard has arrived from the west.

Ashlynn nods at Sarenna.

A Tower Guard leaves south.
The sun casts a golden glow over the city.

Ashlynn says 'It is an important concept to understand, especially if you are providing support and
healing to friendly forces. Often we see raging battles, and when the soldiers come back some are
awfully injured, close to mortal wounds even. While others have a few scrapes and scratches.'

Sarenna says 'In the book I read, it was summarized as, "If one person falls off of a horse and
breaks their leg, and another takes a sword through the gut, one is plainly in more need of
treatment than the other."'

A bellman leaves south.

Ashlynn nods at Sarenna.

The Tarlomen's Gate is opened from the other side.

Reil has arrived from the north, riding a warhorse.

Sarenna nods at Ashlynn.

Reil flips head over heels.

Reil leaves south riding a warhorse. vv

The day has begun.

The River Lady has arrived at the docks.

Reil has arrived from the west, riding a warhorse.

A city lamplighter extinguishes a streetlamp.

Reil leaves east riding a warhorse.

Ashlynn says 'That is true. Now understand, a broken leg is nothing to turn your head away from. However,
the man who was run through with a sword is in more immediate need of attention.'

Sarenna nods in agreement.

A Tower Guard has arrived from the south.
A Tower Guard has arrived from the south.

Ashlynn says 'Because a man can die from a broken leg, if we cannot set it. That is an example of an
injury that could be treated without use of the One Power, if resources are slim.'

A bellman has arrived from the south.

Sarenna nods in agreement.

A Tower Guard leaves west.
A bellman leaves south.
A Tower Guard leaves east.

Ashlynn says 'Do you know much about how casualties might be classified?'

Ashlynn says 'Or do you have any ideas of how it might happen? Take a guess.'

A Tower Guard leaves west.

Ashlynn gets a plate of yellow peppers and pork from a wooden barrel.

Ashlynn eats the food.
Ashlynn is full.

Ashlynn stops using a water skin.

Ashlynn drinks the water.
Ashlynn doesn't feel thirsty any more.

Ashlynn puts a water skin on your belt.

A Tower Guard has arrived from the south.

Sarenna looks thoughtful for a moment, then speaks. "Minor injuries, like bruises or small cuts.
Moderate injuries, like a broken small bone or a minor combat would like a sword graze on the arm...
and major injuries, things that would be life-threatening, like a major combat wound or burn, a
serious break, and so on?"

Ashlynn nods in agreement.

Ashlynn says 'Essentially.'

The gleeman has arrived from the west.

A Tower Guard leaves south.

Ashlynn says 'You can really do it with anything. You could use colors, you could use a number or letter.
You could tag the person with a bracelet with a number of beads on it. '

Ashlynn says 'The basic concept is exactly how you laid out.'

A sailor has arrived from the east.

Sarenna says 'Ah, I follow you now.'

Sarenna says 'Move them to different places, if only a few feet apart, and so on.'

A sailor leaves west.

Ashlynn nods in agreement.

Ashlynn says 'Historically, there were three categories'

Sarenna gets a plate of sausages and vegetables from a wooden barrel.

Sarenna eats a plate of sausages and vegetables.

Ashlynn says 'Those who are likely to live, regardless of what care they receive. Those who are unlikely
to live, regardless of what care they receive, and those for whom immediate treatment will make a
positive difference in their condition'

Ashlynn says 'It is unfortunate, but important, to consider the second category I named.'

Sarenna nods, clearly thinking on this as she takes it in

A Tower Guard has arrived from the east.

Ashlynn says 'You cannot Heal death'

Ashlynn says 'I think that is a category girls often overlook'

The gleeman leaves east.

Sarenna says 'I admit that I certainly hadn't given it that depth of thought until this
conversation.'

Ashlynn nods in agreement.

A Tower Guard has arrived from the east.

Sarenna drinks water from a water skin.

Sarenna drinks water from a water skin.

Sarenna gently fills a water skin from an elaborately sculpted fountain.

The gleeman has arrived from the east.
A Tower Guard leaves south.

Ashlynn says 'So let's include that as a fourth category with what you listed.'

A gray palfrey cocks its head up sharply.

Sarenna nods. "Alright. That makes sense."

Ashlynn says 'Presumed deceased casualties, those are the dead or almost dead that we cannot help. If
there are enough people to make an attempt at resuscitation without jeopardizing others, for
instance if a small scale raiding party is returning with wounds, then that will be done. But only
if it does not jeopardize the other casualties.'

The gleeman leaves south.

Ashlynn says 'Let's mark them with a black card, shall we?'

Sarenna nods in agreement.

The sun sets, washing the city in fiery colors.

Ashlynn says 'The next step from there would be those casualties with severe injuries. These would be the
people who will not survive without immediate medical attention. Say a soldier comes in with a
massive head injury from being clubbed by a trolloc. Someone who is massively confused, unable to
answer simple questions. Someone who is going into shock.'

Ashlynn says 'Let's mark them with a red card, as that is a color of urgency'

The night has begun.

The River Lady has arrived at the docks.

The Tarlomen's Gate closes quietly.

Ashlynn feels the flows of saidar coursing through her body.

The room becomes brighter as you create a sphere of light above your hand.

Ashlynn gets a plate with bread and green veined cheese from a wooden barrel.

Ashlynn eats the food.
Ashlynn is full.

Ashlynn drinks the water.
Ashlynn doesn't feel thirsty any more.

A sailor has arrived from the west.

Ashlynn says 'Any questions so far?'

A Tower Guard leaves south.
A Tower Guard has arrived from the east.

A Tower Guard has arrived from the south.

A Tower Guard leaves east.

A sailor leaves east.

Hamaen has arrived from the east, riding a gray palfrey.

Sarenna looks thoughtful, but shakes her head. "No, so far, I follow."

She is a wanderer for sure. You wonder why she can't clean herself up.

Hamaen is in awful condition.
Hamaen is critical.

Hamaen sits down and rests.

Hamaen says 'hi'

Ashlynn says 'Would you like some healing Hamaen'

Sarenna looks at Hamaen.

Ashlynn says 'This is a prime example child'

A pike has been raised here for showing off trophies.

Sarenna nods in agreement.

Ashlynn says 'If you look at Hamaen you can tell her wounds are critical'

The fountain splashes merrily, light sparkling beautifully on the surface of the water.

Sarenna says 'You seem gravely injured, yes.'

Ashlynn says 'She would be in the red card'

A Tower Guard has arrived from the east.

Sarenna nods in agreement.

Ashlynn says 'Because if she were a soldier of light under attack by trollocs, trollocs causing those
wounds... they may chase into the city after her.'

Sarenna nods in agreement.

Ashlynn says 'It is important to provide care immediately, because should the trollocs enter and attack
her, she may die.'

A raucous group of sailors has arrived from the east.

Ashlynn says 'I apologize Hamaen, let me explain. I am using your entrance, and wounds, as an example for
a lesson I am teaching Sarenna about triage.'

A Tower Guard leaves west.

Ashlynn says 'I am unsure if your wounds are from trollocs, but I am just "making something up" for sake
of explanation'

A Tower Guard leaves west.

Sarenna says 'Would you like treatment, Miss? We do not treat people without their consent, unless
they are unable to give it.'

A raucous group of sailors leaves south. vv

Sarenna looks at Hamaen.

It starts to rain.

Sarenna nods in agreement.

A prophet of the dragon has arrived from the south.

Ashlynn says 'It's important to learn the triage scale, and apply it quickly and accurately.'

A Tower Guard has arrived from the west.

Sarenna nods in agreement.

Ashlynn strokes her chin thoughtfully.

Sarenna looks at Hamaen.

A Tower Guard leaves east.

A Tower Guard has arrived from the west.

A prophet of the dragon leaves west.

A raucous group of sailors has arrived from the south.

Ashlynn says 'Anyway...'

Ashlynn coughs loudly.

A sailor has arrived from the east.

Ashlynn says 'Where was I? I described the red category.'

Sarenna nods in agreement.

A Tower Guard leaves west.
A raucous group of sailors leaves south.

Ashlynn says 'Following that, lets use yellow, as that is a color of caution, and slight danger'

Sarenna says 'So we have black and red so far.'

Sarenna nods in agreement.

Ashlynn says 'We would give a yellow card to the person who is moderately injured, as you described..
this would be someone with cuts, lacerations...they might have minor fractures. Things like that.'

Ashlynn says 'They would have their fractures stabilized, they would be dressed with bandages quickly.'

An old woman has arrived from the east.

Ashlynn says 'And finally, we would give a green card to those with minimal wounds.'

The fountain splashes merrily, light sparkling beautifully on the surface of the water.

A prophet of the dragon has arrived from the west.
The sun casts a golden glow over the city.

Sarenna nods in agreement.

Ashlynn says 'You might hear them called "walking wounded" because they do not need much attention. They
are mostly uninjured.'

A pike has been raised here for showing off trophies.

Sarenna murmurs "Walking wounded." to herself as she nods.

A Tower Guard has arrived from the west.

Ashlynn says 'They require little if any aid. They usually just have some cuts and scrapes, bruising,
things like that.'

A sailor leaves south.
A prophet of the dragon leaves south.

The day has begun.

The Tarlomen's Gate is opened from the other side.
A city lamplighter extinguishes a streetlamp.

Ashlynn says 'Now it is important to also know that people in this category are also often asked to
provide assistance with triage and aid'

A sailor has arrived from the south.
A Tower Guard leaves south.

Ashlynn says 'They might help transport the more grievously injured patients. They might be instructed in
how to provide aid to those patients as well, if they are not using the power.'

A Tower Guard has arrived from the south.

Ashlynn says 'They get checked out more thoroughly after the main event, so to speak'

An old woman leaves south.

Sarenna nods in agreement.

A sailor leaves south.

A Tower Guard leaves south.
The rain stops.

Ashlynn says 'Any questions or comments you have?'

A prophet of the dragon has arrived from the south.

A prophet of the dragon leaves west.
The clouds disappear.

Sarenna says 'It all seems to make sense. I did not know there was even that much to making the
choices, however. So thank you, I've learned a lot today.'

Sarenna says 'So as a Yellow Sister, is it a personal choice to decide if you want to spend time
learning to set bones and stitch wounds and such without using the Power, or is it something all
Yellow Sisters do?'

The River Lady has arrived at the docks.

Ashlynn thinks carefully, considering the question.

***Due to some suspicious events, we move to a more comfortable accomodation in the Solarium***

Solarium of the Yellow Ajah
Tall, arched windows offer a view of the island of Tar Valon and the
confluence of the river Erinin beyond Southharbor, as the river starts on
its journey to Tear. Pots and plants dot the balcony outside the windows.
Chairs have been drawn up near the windows and vases containing bouquets of
of yellow flowers have been placed nearby. Several desks and clusters of
chairs have been distributed around the room, allowing for informal
discussion of Yellow Sisters' research and studies.
[ obvious exits: N ]
Zone: White Tower Upper Floors
Door north: door
Sumptuously upholstered, a gold brocade chaise lounge with gilded legs rests nearby.
A large desk made of fine, thick wood stands across the room from here.
A chair made of red oak rests next to the table. [2]
A Yellow Sister glides past.
A silver-haired Aes Sedai sits here, reading.
Corele Hovian stands here with concern in her eyes.
A warhorse has arrived from the north.
Sarenna has arrived from the north.

Ashlynn gestures at the door with her hand.

The door silently swings shut and lock with a soft *click*.

Sarenna curtseys to the other Aes Sedai present.

Sarenna nods in agreement.

Ashlynn says 'I would say it would be a personal decision. The ability to Heal with the One Power, or
having a Talent in that, is something that we pride ourselves on.'

Ashlynn says 'Healing is such an awesome power, that often times, we do not even need to consider using
alternative means.'

Sarenna nods in agreement.

Ashlynn says 'Using non-Power methods is something that would be reserved for mass casualty events, or
n there are few sisters available to provide care.'

Sarenna nods in agreement.

Ashlynn says 'So some of us might know how to do it, others may not, and others still may know a little
in between.'

Sarenna says 'I was thinking on Wisdoms, and on the healing that some hunters learn for working in
the fields, and it just got me to thinking about this, so I appreciate you taking the time to fill
me in. '

Ashlynn nods in agreement.

Ashlynn says 'I did make a conscious choice to learn how to treat immediate wounds without using the one
power.'

Sarenna says 'There were, and still are, I am sure... a lot of times on the farm when the abiity to
Heal would've been helpful. '

Sarenna smiles happily.

***This leads into Ashlynn telling Sarenna about her story of learning she had the spark***

Ashlynn nods at Sarenna.

Ashlynn says 'You may not know my story, but that is actually how I learned I could use the One Power'

Sarenna says 'Oh? I'd love to hear it, if you wouldn't mind.'

Ashlynn says 'I told this story to Amilesa the other day.'

Ashlynn says 'I grew up on a farm in Altara. We had crops, and livestock.'

Sarenna smiles happily.

Ashlynn says 'One year, when I was about 16, we had a mediocre harvest.'

Ashlynn says 'We had cows for milk, and chicken for eggs and meat.'

Sarenna nods, being all too familiar with disappointing harvests.

Ashlynn says 'One of the cows was pregnant, and about to give birth. She had trouble with prior
pregnancies. Most were stillborn. This time, however, she was able to give birth, and only one calf
survived. She was very sick, and I was so emotional about the whole situation, that I inadvertently
healed the calf.'

Ashlynn says 'Now I didn't realize it at the time, but later on, misfortune struck the farm.'

Ashlynn says 'and that was when I figured it out.'

Ashlynn says 'Our chickens began to get sick, and so did a lot of other chickens on the farms around us.
Some kind of influenza.'

Sarenna nods slowly, clearly fascinated by her expression.

Ashlynn says 'Anyway, I had a favorite hen named Amelia, and she was very sick. I was able to heal her,
and began to understand what I was doing a little better. I was able to heal most of our flock. The
flock produced and we were able to survive the winter.'

Ashlynn says 'We were able to make a bit more since the other farms suffered a little worse than we did.
We tried our best to help the local village and other farmers, while also being able to make a
little bit more.'

Ashlynn says 'Everyone survived, no one was completely ruined, thank the Light'

Sarenna smiles and nods. "Thank the Light, indeed."

Ashlynn says 'I then went to the local wisdom, and learned about what I did, and where I should go. To
here, to the White Tower.'

Ashlynn purses her lips, carefully remembering her history.

The flows holding the light ball have dissipated.

Ashlynn says 'I believe Amilesa published her interview with me and you can look at it in the library, if
you wish to learn more detailed information.'

Ashlynn smiles warmly, thinking about the interview with Amilesa.

Sarenna beams. "I will be sure to read it, yes."

Sarenna says 'I find it interesting to learn how others ended up in the Tower.'

Ashlynn says 'It is. You may know that the current Amyrlin Seat was the daughter of a fisherman one time
long long ago.'

Sarenna smiles broadly. "And now she is the Amyrlin Seat. That's... amazing."

Sarenna says 'I wish more people knew that. It is inspiring to think that you can come from humble
beginnings, and become one of the most powerful people in the world.s'

Ashlynn nods at Sarenna.

Ashlynn says 'So, your studies. I believe I asked you about that, I do not recall if we talked about it
much since I gave you an impromptu lesson on triage.'

Sarenna says 'My own discovery of my ability to channel just left me glad that no one died. '

Ashlynn nods at Sarenna, gesturing to continue.

Sarenna says 'We had a bonfire to celebrate the harvest. We often did. Families would come from the
neighboring farms. I was dancing and singing, and I'd had some wine. I remember feeling really,
really hot from the fire. And I wished there was some wind, to help cool us off. And suddenly...
there was. I felt this warmth spreading all through me, and the wind came, but it was strong, and
got stronger. It blew embers from the fire into the treeline, and we had to spend the rest of the
night putting out a small forest fire.'

Sarenna says 'As soon as I got scared by what had happened, the heat in me instantly went away, and
suddenly the wind stopped dead. I now realize what happened, but at the time, it just frightened
me.'

Sarenna smiles happily.

Sarenna says 'So I was glad to meet you, and Gesin Sedai.'

Ashlynn says 'I recall hearing about that story.'

Ashlynn says 'I am glad we were able to find you, before the chance of that happening became too
immense.'

Sarenna drinks water from a water skin.

***Ashlynn asks Sarenna about her place now and in the future in the White Tower***

Ashlynn says 'Have you given much thought to your place in the Tower, both currently, and in the future?

Sarenna nods. "Well, some. I mean... I don't feel like I know enough yet to make any firm decisions
about my future, beyond the fact that, for now, I want to continue on... I want to earn the shawl.
But as for which Ajah I might like to serve in... I am not yet sure. Yellow is one I've been
considering, as is Blue."

Ashlynn grins wryly at Sarenna.

Ashlynn says 'It might be a bit too early still to consider an Ajah. First, you need to become Accepted.'

Sarenna nods in agreement.

Sarenna says 'I hope to become one, soon. But it will take as long as it takes.'

Sarenna smiles happily.

Ashlynn says 'Have you already completed the novice orientation?'

Ashlynn says 'I believe Accepted Maighan teaches that.'

Sarenna says 'I have, yes. And I've taken all of the classes offered by the Ajahs for the Novices,
as well.'

Ashlynn says 'What do you know about what it means to be Accepted?'

Sarenna says 'My understanding of it is that it means to embrace this as your life. To make the
decision to forsake things like having a family, in favor of furthering your studies here, and
working to achieve the shawl. But it also means to help other Novices, those who are where you were,
not so long ago. '

Sarenna says 'To teach them what you've learned and help guide them along the path.'

Ashlynn sit down on a stout oaken chair.

Ashlynn says 'Yes, that is a good way of putting it.'

Sarenna smiles, looking relieved.

Ashlynn says 'When you reach that point, you will find yourself immersing yourself in your studies. You
will be able to leave the island, but not without some restrictions.'

Sarenna listens carefully.

Ashlynn says 'You may have a rudimentary understanding of the ajahs and their missions, but your more
diligent studies and ability to travel elsewhere will usher in a period where you will be able to
comprehend a deeper understanding of the ajahs.'

Sarenna nods.

Ashlynn says 'This is important for your development, as it will help you narrow down an ajah where you
see yourself a fit. By that time, hopefully, you will be outside the door for an imminent
apprenticeship.'

Ashlynn rest your tired bones on a stout oaken chair.

Sarenna nods. "I'd like nothing more."

Ashlynn smiles at Sarenna, considering what she just said.

Ashlynn says 'It sounds to me like you are asking to be considered for the Arches. Am I understanding
this correctly?'

Sarenna says 'Yes, Ashlynn Sedai. I am.'

Ashlynn nods carefully, watching Sarenna closely.

Sarenna nods. "I realize that I may not fully know what I am asking, but from what I know here and
now, it is what I want."

Ashlynn frowns slightly, considering what Sarenna just said.

Ashlynn says 'Perhaps you could expand on what you mean by not fully knowing what you are asking for,
because you should have a good understanding of what you are asking '

Ashlynn watches Sarenna calmly, waiting for her answer.

Sarenna says 'To clarify, what I meant by that is that... I don't want to make it seem like I think
I know what it's like. When I first put on the Novice white, I thought I knew exactly what was
required, and what I'd be doing. And I soon found out that what I thought I knew was only a part of
it.'

Sarenna says 'So, while I believe that I have a firm understanding of what I am asking, I realize
that there may be more to it, is all I meant to say.'

Sarenna smiles happily.

Ashlynn nods in agreement at Sarenna.

Ashlynn says 'That is what I thought, but I wanted to confirm.'

Ashlynn says 'It's true. We often think we know what we are getting into and find it to be so much
different from our expectations. It can be a pleasant thing, too!'

Sarenna smiles and nods.

Ashlynn says 'As Accepted you will find yourself doing many things. You will spend a lot of time with
your studies, learning even more about each Ajah and its mission. You'll become even more familiar
with the other Aes Sedai, and you will find yourself providing us with assistance in completing more
rigorous tasks than those expected from a novice.'

Ashlynn says 'All the while continuing to help and instruct the novices, and other Accepted.'

Sarenna nods again. "I understand, Ashlynn Sedai."

Ashlynn says 'Good.'

Ashlynn says 'I've got some other matters to attend to. I am looking forward to seeing you go through the
Arches.'

Sarenna smiles happily.

Ashlynn says 'You may consider yourself dismissed for now. '

Sarenna says 'Thank you again for your time.'

Ashlynn gestures with her hand.

Sarenna curtseys before Ashlynn.

The door smoothly swings open.

Sarenna leaves north. ^^
